2.7 Turtle Anarchy Portly Stout Aroma: roasty and sweet; would have preferred a little drier; Appearance: pitch black with thin tan head; Taste: follows nose but ends with slighly unpleasant sour taste, kind of like electrical fire; Palate: heavy body with long, roasty/burny finish; Overall: not very good. Would not get again. Tuesday, May 22, 2018

3.3 Turtle Anarchy Another Way to Rye Can. A- Rye, mild citrus, subtle pine. A- Copper brown color, cloudy liquid, off white head. T- Rye, bitter, citrus, pine, malty. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- Had this sitting around for a while so at a solid year old, it probably wasn't in it's prime. All things considered, it was pretty good. Tons of malt and rye that pretty much overpower everything. Completed with a touch of pine and citrus bitterness. Liked it a lot better than I thought I might. Saturday, January 27, 2018

3.7 Turtle Anarchy A Bomb And A Bull On tap at Sigler's in Chattanooga. Pours essentially black and opaque. The head is tan and semi-durable. . Appealing aroma with a well balanced mix of bourbon barrel effects and dark roasted grains. The flavor is moderately strong for style but with a rather pronounced influence of the bourbon barrel aging but not so much as to completely mask the dark roasted grain flavor. Mild bitterness. 3.1 Turtle Anarchy Portly Stout On draught at Wild Horse in Nashville. Tasty but nothing remarkable to set it apart from the thousands of others out there. Looks and tastes more like a porter than a stout, but the style lines for so many examples appear to be blurred anymore. Saturday, November 18, 2017

2.1 Turtle Anarchy Another Way to Rye Too sweet. Very malt forward. Really have to search for the rye. Citrus and pine hop. Good head retention. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone Saturday, September 9, 2017

3.2 Turtle Anarchy Red Ale Mostly an alright American red, caramel malt underlined by toasted grain followed by an intense piney hop bitterness. The honey seems unnecessary, though, adding a outsized sweet back end, overshadowing the mild berry and citrus notes on the beer’s finish. Clingy IBUs help shore up the honey-lined fade, but I’d love to try this beer without the adjuncts. Decent red pour, giving up a mild head and moderate lace. Creamy texture works, but does nothing to prevent the pint growing cloy as it warms. Okay brew. Tuesday, August 15, 2017

3.9 Turtle Anarchy Portly Stout Nice and dry roasty stout, full of bitter unsweetened chocolate and a healthy amount of char. Slight dark fruit notes take hold in the middle, but the finish is a long, java-heavy fade brimming with dark malt and smoke. Pretty brown-black pour with a modest head and minor lacing. Aroma is roasted malt and chocolate. Good texture. Very nice pint. Tuesday, July 25, 2017

2.8 Turtle Anarchy Another Way to Rye Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a deep, clear brown with a soapy head that lingers. Plum, rye bread and piney hops dominate the nose. 3.6 Turtle Anarchy Another Way to Rye Can from Casual Pint. Pours out a thick, deep amber with a tall head. Grassy hops are in the aroma with very heavy rye. This is backed up by caramel notes and a distant soapiness. Mouthfeel is medium with pleasant carbonation. Tons of rye gives the flavor a satisfying hearty spice. Combined with the hops, it seems a tad metallic, but not bad. Citrus starts to come out in the finish. [July 2018] Can from Token. Amber beer. Solid grapefruity hops in the aroma with a nice rye presence. The level of sweetness is just right to balance out the bite. Classic PNW hop flavor. Thursday, June 8, 2017

4.4 Turtle Anarchy Another Way to Rye By their very nature, hops can be pretty overwhelming. Sometimes that means that Rye IPA’s end up tasting like regular IPA’s. That’s not the case with Another Way to Rye. This orange-brown beer has a lot of grassy, spicy rye. The hops don’t get outdone by any means, though. There’s a lot of pithy citrus and earth. Long bitter finish. The rye and aggressive hops make this beer intense, but it’s still approachable. This is one of the better Tennessee beers I’ve gotten to try. Sunday, April 30, 2017

3.6 Turtle Anarchy Saison Pint at Hops N Hollers. This is real cloudy for a saison with a cloudy yellow body and big white head. Aromas of pepper, pineapple juice, and grass. It’s on the dry end but lots of texture and body in the mouthfeel. Juicy pineapple and spicy esters throughout the flavor, even a bit of ginger and lemongrass Pretty nice. Sunday, March 26, 2017

3.5 Turtle Anarchy Another Way to Rye Tingly and lingering like a good rye IPA should be, but the sweet malt center might be a little too heavy for its own good. Gets thick in the middle, a tad syrupy with a deep caramel vein, until the piney hop finish rouses all the loafers. Not bad, but could use a little more vitriol. Thursday, December 22, 2016

3.8 Turtle Anarchy Portly Stout On tap at Siglers in Tennessee. Revisited about 9 months later with a 12 oz can. Excellent looking with a black body and a fine tan head. Nice lacing. 3.5 Turtle Anarchy Red Ale Draft. Red/amber pour with an off-white head. Subtle aroma, a bit of spicy hops and toasty malt. The flavor is crisp and hoppy with a bit of dryness in the finish. Good support comes from the malt without making it sweet. Surprisingly good for a style that is often boring and lackluster. Tuesday, July 12, 2016
