Rich, rich almost buttery-sweet with more sugar than fruit. The fruit on the finish is well-done, juicy, authentic at least. Almost like vanilla-maple-granola. Low tartness, not none. Oh wow, it's not sugary as shit. Probably the least sweet smoothie sour I've had to-date. Lots of juicy, tart fruit, light maple, light pepper, light vanilla. There's a very strong lingering bitterness I don't love, very tannic. Otherwise, I applaud the lack of sugar here. I wonder if it just unintentionally attenuated while sitting in the fridge? PhillyBeer2112	3.6 450 North Slushy XL - Cotton Candy Strawberry Pina Colada Just the name of this beer ought to make me fight somebody. Whatever. So its actually not so bad. Not chunky like the other one I had from this brewery. Pinkish orangey color, moderate short lived head. Nose is a melange of fruit and coconut. I think strawberry pops out. Flavor starts with coconut, plenty of tartness, almost taste some lime, finish reminds of a strawberry margarita. Light bodied, not overly sweet and cloying, as the tartness balances the fruity sweetness. Thursday, February 29, 2024

A beer smoothie? has this been going on? because this is my first actually having a beer that seems mostly like an actual fruit smoothie, replete with actual chunks of fruit needing forced out of the can during the pour. This is fucking weird, that's all I'm saying. Dark opaque purple, left a purple stain everywhere because of the shaking and splashing of the can to get the chunks out. Nose is heavy on cherry, a little currant. Flavor is also heavy on cherry up front, currant at finish, blackberry I guess is there. Light sour. Mouthfeel has a ...texture. Its not heavy per se, but a fibrous aspect is there. Its the chunks. Its an almost chewy beer. Leaves purple stuff all over the inside of the glass. Finish is sweet and sour, with a long sourness. PhillyBeer2112	3.8 450 North Slushy XL - Poly Juice Mixed feelings about this one. On the bad side its another smoothie/slushy fruity concoction that deviates pretty far from beer. But at the same time, it still has a nice sour beer base, and the fruit addition works as a nice combination. Very cloudy opaque orangey-pinkish color. Nose is big on strawberry lip gloss (a bit like kissing Michelle in 7th grade back in 82, or at least so I imagined) and a hint of pineapple. Peaches I think come through a little more in the flavor, but it is still strong on strawberry. Medium sweet, medium tart. After taste is pineapple sweet and sour. Lighter body than you might expect. It has something of a strawberry margarita thing going on. I disappeared this glass really quick, and so I'm pretty surprised by that. Wednesday, February 21, 2024

jgb9348	3.6 450 North Serpentine Super pale and hazy straw golden coloured body with a nice, pretty thick, two to three centimetre tall creamy and deep tan head that stays afloat nicely over the 90 per cent opaque body. Aroma of strong floral and grassy hop notes with a lot of tropically and citrus fruit notes as well, with some honey and sweetness in the nose, too. Full-bodied; Super rich, sweet, dank and very cloying notes dominate with a lot of the rich fruit here, from melons to papaya and the syrup and honey really come out, with a pretty big bitterness as well and yes, a ton of alcohol notes which seemingly can't be hidden at all, with the hop notes here, too, but way lower in strength than the others. Aftertaste is filling, super rich and not mild in any sort of way at all - this shows it's Imperial Status throughout everything and the especially cloying sugars and pungency make this a bit too strong, even for a 250 mL can or at MOST a 12 ounce can - but a pint-sized can - seemingly INSANE! Overall, nice enough to try, but for the reasons above, this will be the only ONE of these i'll ever have! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can (crazy!), purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 03-September-2022 for US$6,49 sampled at my house here in Washington on 27-October-2022. Taste comprises lemon zest, hedgerow, candyfloss notes, mango pulp, herb. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light puckering edge.
