3 Margaret River Pale Ale On tap at Settlers Tavern. As Allovate states this may be better when fresh, pine notes then a little dusty and a little pepper, low carbonation , drinkable but not outstanding. Friday, August 31, 2012

2.9 Margaret River Pale Ale On draught @ Settlers Tavern, Margaret River. Turbid, muddy chestnut with a lasting, compact white pad that managed some solid lace. Nose is subtle but I picked up pine needles, passionfruit, gritty malt and grass. Light, zingy and tangy mouthfeel; carbonation is low but it ends crisp with little to linger. Toasted, sweet and grainy malt up front with pineapple and passionfruit esters shining brightly before an all pine and dried herbs back end. Yeast shows; more so as it warms. Think I might have tucked in to the end of the keg. Would love to try this one bright and fresh. As it was it weren’t too bad a drop! Friday, August 17, 2012
