jgb9348	2.9 Half Full Beacon Pretty hazy golden, straw and even bright copper coloured body with a very frothy, large, four to five centimetre tall tan head that's very soapy and leaves a nasty lace on the sides of the glass. Aroma of citrus and grassy notes with some deeper biscuity and floral notes, a good deal of yeast in the nose and some deep bitterness from the hops. Medium-bodied; Relatively straight-forward grassy and herbal notes that show a good balance of malt and hops with a dry bitterness and slight funk from the hops and yeast with a dash of bready characteristic and some sweetness at the end. Aftertaste is pretty well-balanced with a nice kick of biscuity malt coupled with some herbal and grassy dryness on the end that ends slightly sweet, but not showing any real deep characteristics or pungency with some light caster sugar sweetness on the end. Overall, a decent enough IPA, but devoid of crazy complexity, depth or pungency - this is well-balanced and showing some expected characteristics. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Glen Ro Spirit Shoppe in Monroe, Connecticut on 25-November-2022 for US$1,00 ($6 for 6 somehow!), but 'Best By' 17-March-2021 and sampled on my youngest daughter's EIGHTH birthday - 02-January-2023 after returning from Florida - Happy Birthday Paige! 17Beer	3.2 Half Full Ignite One pint can. Pours a bright orange amber with a rocky white head and a lot of Champagne bubbles. Light lacing. Tropical fruit smells with some pine as well. Super juicy with apparent alcohol upfront and bitterness overwhelming the juice with a slight turpentine aspect. Above average carbonation. Dry mouthfeel. Aroma is strong roasted malts and coffee. Taste is roasted bitter coffee and sweet malts. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth, thick texture, soft-to-average carbonation and finish as taste. tfontana	3.7 Half Full Pursuit IPA Can pour into nonic pint glass. Appearance is hazy orange with nice sparkle, finger-plus width foamy off-white head with fair retention and no lacing. Aroma is orange and then stronger lemony citrus, candied sugar. Taste is candied sugar, orange and lemon citrus, mild pine. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, thin texture, lively carbonation and finish as taste but very late cracker malt and mild bitter. Overall, a sweet treat leaning toward NEIPA. Not terribly complex but I like the amount of lemon, which makes it a little bit off the beaten path. Monday, April 8, 2019

jgb9348	2.9 Half Full Bright Ale Super clear golden and light blonde coloured body without any haze or glow, but a super thin, ultra-fast dying pure white head. Aroma of light herbal and very grassy hops without any malt or yeast, but a nice apple and pear scent and a dose of lemon and citrus noticeable along with some higher alpha acid, just small amounts of hops. Light-bodied; Strong citrus and lemon flavours with a touch of light malts and very little else aside from some grains and a dose of herbal and very perfumey hop notes throughout. Aftertaste shows some grass, light funk, a dose of citrus and flowers and ending with a very dry, but herbal funk that is more reminiscent of a saison than anything else. Overall, a pretty mild beer that would show well in the deep south in the middle of Summer, but not too well pretty much anywhere else, as it doesn't have enough flavours or complexities to get much of anything going for it. A nice enough flavour, just not enough of it, but nice to try though from Connecticut! I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from GlenRo Spirit Shoppe in Monroe, Connecticut on 10-March-2018 for US$1,00 sampled at home on the Eastern Shore of Virginia in Pungoteague, Virginia on 20-April-2018.
