DSG	3.1 HaTzvi Porter Beera Hazaka Bottle. Dark brown to black color, cola-like, with a cool-looking huge beige head that ends with a big round bulge that rises above the glass. Roasty aroma, a bit acidic, with a bit of coffee, yeasty notes and faint vegetal hints. Sweetish malt flavor, pretty roasty, with some toasted bread, a bit of chocolate, a "green" hint, light acidic notes and a dry finish with mild bitterness and some coffee. Medium-bodied, slightly over-carbonated at first. Not bad, very light and easy-drinking for a 7% Porter. Alcohol is really well-hidden. Thursday, October 11, 2012

beerandbeyond	2.7 HaTzvi Porter Beera Hazaka 330ml (tried to be) poured into a tulip glass. Half of the beer gushed out of the glass. The remaining half is clear purple-brown. Huge airy head, gone fast but left lace. Mild black cherries on the nose, with mellow roastiness and yeast. Chocolate flavors, mild coffee, low bitterness, yeast and some dark fruit tones. DSG	3.1 HaTzvi Red Ale Bottle. Very dark red-amber color with a big stable beige head. Sweet fruity aroma with malt, caramel, candi sugar, a hint of honey and light yeasty spiciness. Sweet malty flavor with fruits, caramel, a hint of hops and a drier finish with yeast, an acidic touch, light spiciness and a licorice note. Medium-bodied, fluffy well-carbonated mouthfeel. ThreeCats	2.7 HaTzvi Porter Beera Hazaka Stable big foamy head over opaque body with just a few red highlights (but you have to really look hard) Aroma of roast and coffee, pleasant, but a bit one-dimensional. Taste of heavy roast and coca-cola, very dry. This may be better characterized as a stout than a porter. Like the aroma, it’s pretty good, but one dimensional. Palate is roast bitterness. DSG	2.3 HaTzvi Amarillo Bottle. Slightly hazy deep golden to amber color with a very small white head. Pretty muted aroma, kinda weird with some overripe-to-rotten fruits and some citric hops notes. Sweetish flavor with light graininess, some of the same weird fruitiness as in the aroma, and a bitter finish with some citric hops. Mouthfeel is kinda watery.
