3.4 Boneyard Golden Ale From a bottle. Pours cloudy orange with a little sediment, lasting head, well carbonated and fruity, refreshing with just enough hop bitterness. Sunday, December 14, 2014

3.7 Boneyard Grapefruit IPA Well presented beer. Smells like grapefruit. I can taste and smell the grapefruit flavour. Seems a bit on the non-bitter side for an IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone Saturday, August 16, 2014

3.4 Boneyard Golden Ale From 330 ml bottle. Pours a lightly hazy gold with a thin white head and light carbonation. Aromas of lemon, peaches, pine and flowers. Taste is more robust than expected, with a firm grapefruit and lemon zest bitterness dominating. Finishes fairly cleanly with a touch of pepper. Zesty citrus aftertaste. Pretty good golden ale that strays into IPA territory. Sunday, August 10, 2014

3.8 Boneyard Grapefruit IPA Bottle from Slowbeer (Feb 2014). Slightly hazy golden, massive billowing head, highly (overly?) carbonated, name says it all, tart grapefruit aroma and flavour, but well balanced by some sweet caramel malt, ripe pineapple character too. Really good. Friday, July 25, 2014

3 Boneyard Golden Ale Beautiful golden colour, huge head with good lace. Smells of fresh citrus and grapefruit - tastes of grapefruit. Palate is disappointingly thin and a little over carbonated. Thursday, July 24, 2014

3.5 Boneyard Red Ale On tap at Newstead Brewing 1801014. Fair bit of maltiness and nuttiness going on with this one. Amber red in colour with a good off white head. Very drinkable. Monday, June 9, 2014

3.7 Boneyard Grapefruit IPA I expected to hate this beer. But it seriously surprised me by actually being subtle, slick and very drinkable, if a bit odd. It’s beautiful to look at - golden, with rich dense fine bubbled head. Malt quality is lovely in mouth and finish as well (cool to see german malts in ipa). Cleanly fermented. hops not overpowering at all - delicately citric even - kind of weird pithy grapefruit juice flavour sticks out on its own. Ditch the grapefruit and this could be an outstanding APA. look forward to trying more from this brewery. Sunday, May 11, 2014

4.2 Boneyard Red Ale Bottle from Slowbeer. Murky amber-brown, off-white head, amazing aromas and flavours for such a low strength beer, toasty, biscuity malts, apricot/peach/grapefruit hops, nice resiny bitterness, medium body, thin texture, medium bitterness, long bitter finish. Amazing! Sunday, April 13, 2014

3.6 Boneyard Grapefruit IPA Pours clear lightly hazed gold straw with well retained off white head. Aromas of citrus, pine, resin, grass and light sweet malts. Medium body, generous bitterness, ever present grapefruit flavour and sourness, lingering bitter sour grapefruit juice through the finish. Overall the juice makes this disappointing ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone Saturday, April 12, 2014

3.3 Boneyard Red Ale Appearance-wise it wasn’t the most inviting of beers. Dull, muddy chestnut with little head retention and minimal carbonation. Deeply piney, woody and chocolaty nose hinting at roasted carob bean and milk chocolate icecream. Extremely woody on the palate and into the aftertaste. Mildly bitter peak at the back is more malt than hop and with dusty, peppery spices and a smoky phenolic edge. Featherweight body was expected and the carbonation is very soft. Roasted almonds and hazelnuts comes through as does a lick of the chocolate of the aroma. There is a touch of stonefruit esters in there late. The malt profile works well, but the hops are sadly lacking. Not the freshest of samples I’m guessing but it still, as is, a great quaffer. Not too shabby! 3.5 Boneyard Grapefruit IPA Pours a darkish yellow with a sudsy off white head. Nose is grapefruit for days, some pine, pineapple, and a hint of caramel. Flavour is lots of zesty grapefruit, caramel, pineapple, quite fruity from the juice, and a very biscuity and slightly tart finish, with a good dose of bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium, with a fairly fizzy body. Perhaps a little overcarbonated. A solid IPA, with an interesting sourness and flavour from the grapefruit. Friday, February 21, 2014

2.9 Boneyard Grapefruit IPA Bottled at Mrs Parmas, Melbourne, Victoria. Hazy golden, mid sized head. Grapefruit aroma. Fairly sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Some sugar and vegetables, rip fruits and grapefruit. Mid bitter finish with some resin. Like an odd mix of IPA and grape tonic. Monday, February 17, 2014

3.8 Boneyard Grapefruit IPA Chris from Masterchef really has come a long way. He’s making cracking beers, this little beauty included. You can smell the zythos hops coming through the otherwise strong grapefruit aromas. There’s also candied lemon, grapefruit and some and some great earthy aromas to boot. The taste is refreshing and hides its 6% alcohol dangerously well. Nice one, Chris. Friday, February 14, 2014

4.1 Boneyard Grapefruit IPA 330ml Bottle. Pours a cloudy golden colour with an orange tint. Well laced, medium white head. Strong aromas of citrus, pine, pale malts and lots of grapefruit, Floral with hints of honey. Initial flavour is a malty sweetness with notes of pine. This quickly moves into a large citrus taste with notes of straw. Finish is all grapefruit, a very zesty flavour, which is dry and bitter. A very refreshing beer. Saturday, February 8, 2014

3.7 Boneyard Red Ale 330mL bottle. Pours deep cloudy amber with an off white head and a wonderful biscuit/nut/citrus aroma. Wonderful flavour for a beer that is 2.9%, i get grapefuit, slight nuttness, slight choc biscuit. Very nice beer. Sunday, January 12, 2014

3.3 Boneyard Golden Ale There’s a hint of the Pacific Ale about this one, with pleasant tropical fruit aromas but a more significant hop presence in the mouth. The only critcism is that the malt is a little mild for a Golden Ale and the palate a little thin. Very nice Summer ale. Friday, January 3, 2014

3.7 Boneyard Red Ale From a 330ml bottle on 28/12/2013. Pours a cloudy, dark reddy amber with a biggish head. The aroma features lots of toasty, toffee malt and a some fruity notes. For a mid-strength this is remarkably flavoursome, with lots of sweet malt (toast, toffee, bread), mandarin, cherries and strawberries, set off against some moderate hops. The body is medium and the carbonation lively. This is remarkably tasty given the ABV. Boneyard are turning out some seriously good stuff. Saturday, December 28, 2013

3.1 Boneyard Red Ale Bottle. Reddish amber with a beige head. Modest but pleasant aroma of toast and biscuit, a little pine. Thin, but enough singed breadiness that it doesn’t seem watery. Some fruity touches, moderate bitterness. Decent quaffer regardless of the 2.9%, very good considering it. Saturday, November 30, 2013

3.8 Boneyard Red Ale Quite the achievement, this one. A tasty full-bodied low alcohol beer. The aroma is a nice, complex combo of nuts, apricot jam, citrus and pine. The malts are cholcolatey and malty with a hint of coffee while the hops are light grapefruit. I even get a little strawberry. The palate’s a little think but it’s a really enjoyable drink. 3.8 Boneyard Red Ale Pours copper with a large head. Nose shows bready malt, tropical fruit, resinous hops and confectionery. 3.3 Boneyard Red Ale On tap at Josie bones. Pours a dark reddish colour with a thick off white head. Nose toffee, grapefruit and caramel malt. Taste is really soft. Low carbonation. 3.3 Boneyard Golden Ale This is a very good golden ale although not sure it’s a 3.76 average. Plenty of orange and citrus early, particularly in the aromas, but these fruits quickly turn bitter and hoppy in the mouth. Hop treatment is very classy; sharp and well defined. Excellent presence for a sub 5% beer. Sunday, August 18, 2013

4.3 Boneyard Golden Ale Easily a contender for Oz’s best beer in my opinion, this little gem from Bone yard just had me wanting more and more. From its sunny pastel yellow body rises a laxing yet tight pad of white. A fin lace left in its wake. Aroma is just bursting with fresh ripe fruit such as tangerines and nectarines, bitter blood orange and cantaloupe, Chenin Blanc wine and a little peach - lovely, fragrant, seductive. Dipping right in it is juicy, supple and fruity fresh on the palate continuing on from that engrossing aroma. Boldly and assertively bitter, herbaceous and lasting in the finish with a drenching amount of fruit sinking in on the tongue and holding there for so, so long. This is wonderfully balanced between bitter, sweet and sour with an undertow of soft malts. Whilst the carbonation is quite low it still manages to dance well. It edges being vinous but is controlled under a bucket load of artistically utilised hops. I love it, I need more of it. Doesn’t get much better than this!! 3.9 Boneyard Grapefruit IPA Riding on the back of their first beer I don’t think Bone yard could put a step wrong at the moment. Chilled and into a snifter. Needed a lot of rousing on the pour just to lift a film of white atop. The body a hazy, dull amber with very carbonation. Definite, well pronounced, ripe grapefruit comes out on the nose as does sour lime, pineapple and candied lemon. Perfectly executed, all encompassing bitter grapefruit pulp and peel on the palate, so fresh it was like biting right into one. Lingering bitter herbs, sour citrus and lightly peppery notes add a refreshing zing to it. Body is much lighter than expected with moderate to low carbonation. A lot of pine, sawdust and husky grain in there ensuring a dry overall mouthfeel. The star of the show though is the grapefruit which just dominates and quenches so well making it deadly sessionable; the glass finished before the rating. I must say I favoured the Golden ale over this one but saying that this is still an outstanding ale. Lovely stuff!! (33cL, no date stamp, Cellarbrations Carlisle) Saturday, March 16, 2013

3.8 Boneyard Grapefruit IPA From a 330ml bottle on 11/3/2013. Pours a cloudy golden with a very small head. Has a very pleasant floral, fruity aroma, with passionfruit and grapefruit present. Flavour wise, it starts with some muted sweet tropical and stone fruit, but this is, like the name would suggest, all about the grapefruit. with a full on, tangy, grapefruit bitterness which seeks to hang around forever. The body is medium and the carbonation perfect. This is a bold, intense and quite impressive brew, though a little more sweetness would give better balance. That said, this is another good’n from Boneyard. Monday, March 11, 2013

2.9 Boneyard Grapefruit IPA Bottle. Pours an odd golden bronze colour with some hazing. Smallish offwhite head. Somewhat subtle grapefruit aromas to the nose. Flavour wise I get the grapefruit sourness / acidity but I also get a very nuttiness to the malt. In my view doesnt really work with the grapefruit and very off putting. Finish is quite dry though not overly bitter. Medium mouthfeel. Did really lije this to be honest. Friday, February 22, 2013
