Transparent mahogany body with a small, cream-colored head present. Starts with nice bourbon vanilla flavors. The middle of this beer has some buttery diacetyl. Finishes smooth and sweet. 2.3 Kelsey Creek Black Fedora 2 ounce sample on tap at the brewery. The aroma is fairly sweet with some cocoa notes. I don’t really detect any hops in the nose of this that would make me think it’s a black IPA. Transparent dark amber body with a medium, creamy off-white head with nice lacing present. Kind of lightly colored for the style. Starts with astringent, earthy hop bitterness. Light sweet cocoa in the middle. Harsh burnt roast in the finish. Not remotely balanced. Transparent copper-colored body with a small, off-white head and nice lacing. Starts with nice piney hop flavor, before a nice semi sweet malt backbone takes over.
