4.1 Infamous Double Tap Imperial IPA I have a tall boy can of Double Tap from the Lakeline Total Wine in Cedar Park. My first beer from the brewery, time to check it out. A tulip glass in position, I tilt the can for the pour. A cloudy medium gold body followed by a proper top of wholly white foam that slowly settles to a cover. Lifting the glass for a smell, hoppy, yellow fruit and a bit of tropical. I am pulled in. The taste, I can say it blows the scent out of the water. Hops in abundance, a pineapple sweetness, malt, grain, hay, kiwi, lemon, cane syrup and pine bark. I appreciate the bitterness but hard to believe it is 100 IBU like the label says. And talking about the label, it has a Las Vegas Raiders vibe to it. But I digress. Very full, very dense. I know the high abv is in there, it lurks around the edges. Glad I picked this brew up. The sum is greater than its parts. Saturday, November 4, 2023

3.7 Infamous Sally Skull Medium gold pour, finger of white head. Nose is citrus. Middle is citrus, melon, touch fig, medium kilned malt, orange zest. Finish shows a little booze, and leaves with a dry citrus bitterness. Saturday, October 31, 2020

3.3 Infamous Sweep The Leg I’ve not tried a peanut butter stout, it will be new to me. As will be the brewer although I have made a couple of brewery sweeps through Austin. This 12 oz bottle came from the nice people at The Cellar in Odessa. I have it cooled off and will use my ABGB (another Austin brewer) snifter for the sampling. The presentation is proper, an ink black body with a thin sliver of foam around the rim. I lift for a smell, chocolate and the barest indication of nuts of some kind. And the taste, not bad, just not getting the expected peanut butter thing. The chocolate again, wood, ash, raspberry and a slight medicinal effect. Wish the peanut deal was more obvious. 2.2 Infamous Sweep The Leg 12 oz. bottle purchased in San Antonio, TX. Pours a pitch black color with a huge light tan head and great retention. Decent lacing. Faint dark roasted coffee and cocoa aroma. The taste follows the nose. Dark roasted coffee base flavor layered with a light cocoa and lighter dry peanut butter background flavor. Strange tangy foreign stout finish. Not sweet. The more I have, the more I dislike. Disappointing. At least the 8.0% ABV is well hidden. Thursday, September 19, 2019

5 Infamous Bugsy's Firebrush Amber This is currently my favorite Texas Amber. Not easy to find but just the right mix of flavors. Loses something from the can however. Find it on tap. Friday, December 7, 2018

4.6 Infamous Camacho Pour it slow, BIG head due to me just pouring it right on into the glass. Lots of roasted malt aroma, still waiting on head to simmer down. OK next bottle, black with nice thick head. Tastes is chocolate, coffee, roasted barley, just all around good stout. Excellent beer for this latest cold front. Saturday, January 13, 2018

3.4 Infamous Massacre Pumpkin Pecan Porter Bottle:   Deep dark brown sugar, thick, moderate spritzy tannish head, little lacing.   Spicy nose, cinnamon and nutmeg with a background of roasted malts and sweet earthiness.   A bit spritzy on the tongue.   Moderately spiced, roasty, sweeter than most, not quite as big as I would have thought for a Porter.   Does have a bit of a Pecan sweetness too.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Clean finish, soft roastiness with moderate pumpkin spices.   Simple but enjoyable.   Also a bit sweeter than most.   Thanks Bill! 4.3 Infamous Sweep The Leg Showed up in my local store in June and grabbed a six pack since that was the only shipment of this they was going to get. I don't care for stouts when it is very hot so saved it till now. Black with thick head that hangs on a while. Smells of chocolate malts and the taste is pretty dominate chocolate with only a very subtle hint at peanut butter. If the bottle had not told me about the peanut butter I probably would have never noticed it. Still a really good stout and enjoyed it on this chilly evening. Thursday, November 9, 2017

2.5 Infamous IPA Beautiful pour! Rich gold with a massive, very stable glistening eggshell head. All downhill from here though. Aroma is citrus and florals, sweet. Pretty straightforward. Not much to write home about in the taste either after a creamy sort of feel. There’s vague fruitiness, subdued citrus, soapy pine, then it just dies a quick watery death. Reminds me of what American IPAs were like about 15-20 years ago before we knew how to do them. Tuesday, July 11, 2017

2 Infamous Double Tap Imperial IPA Bomber bottle poured a murky brownish-orange hue w/ medium off-white head. Moderate sweet malty aromas. Initial flavor is moderate sweet w/ a moderate bitter finish. Tastes are caramel, brown sugar, malt, pine, and jackfruit. Full bodied and a warm finish. Comes across as under attenuated hoppy wort. The hops received a double tap and were buried in the sweetness of this beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone Wednesday, June 7, 2017

2.9 Infamous Sweep The Leg 12 oz individual bottle at Total Wine. Poured at almost 90 degrees with no noticeable head, but quite a bit of peanut butter sediment at the bottom. Despite clear inclusion, pb is not at all noticeable in aroma and only barely present in taste. Strong malt, to me, seems to promise a higher abv. Friday, April 21, 2017

2.4 Infamous SexApeel American Hefeweizen Hazy gold brew with small quick fading head. Smells of spice and soured grains. I really want to love this brew because it is a weizen (like weizen brews), from Austin (TX party central), and it is called Sexapeel (come on what a cool name). Sadly there is a sour/tart thing going on here that is just not doing it for me. Think my taste buds have been damaged from my recent attempts at trying those god awful gose things to where anything remotely tart just gags me. While only a mild tart it is still throwing me off this one. Tuesday, January 10, 2017
