Found in San Marcos in CANs. Brown with just some lacing around the edges of the glass. At first the toasted malts are all I could smell or taste but then I started to get the pecan flavors. There was some mild hints at the honey but the malts and pecans where overpowering it. Really interesting brew even though it is a bit pricey and comes in CANs.

Can at a restaurant somewhere. Not terrible but really sweet, kinda syrupy. Definitely has a little bit of pecan but feels almost kinda fake. Meh.

Murky Brown body with some sediment, the head is a thin soapy ring that is leaving some spotty lace. Aroma has plenty of pecan upfront with touches of vanilla and honey. Flavor is much the same as the aroma with some of the malts coming out, it finishes slightly dry with pecan oil.

Schertz, Tx - on tap at Fox’s Pizza and Tap Room. Hazy, medium copper pour, Decently thick off-white head that leaves a nice film of lacing. Aroma has some peachy fruit accents and a hint of spruce. Solid light citrus bitterness, a touch of caramel sweetness, some cake mix sweetness. Mouthfeel has a decent thickness to it.

This is absolutely one of my favorite local beers here in Seguin, Texas. I’ve had it on tap at one of the local bar/restaurants and i was pleasantly surprised. It’s a real bummer that although it is available in the surrounding cities, its still kinda a rarity to run into one of these

Super dark red almost brown. Super malty red backbone. Pure white head. Hoppy aroma. Malt bomb! Tastes strong but still smooth. Laces white. Has some sweetness from the malt. Citrus notes still show up now and then.

On tap at Big Hops. A happy version of an amber ale. Pours a slightly cloudy brown amber color. Nice hoppy bitter toasty malt flavor and aroma. A bit watery on the palate. Not too bad. Thanks to Kevin for buying the first round.

Sadly not a very good brew. Thin head. Tinny taste. Bitter wash down. Basic fare. Very simple. It suffers from not having enough hops. Feels like an experiment to find the right tasting beer without actually finding the right tasting beer.

This is dark amber in color with a slightly off-white head. It has an aroma of both lightly caramelized and almost burned malts. Nothing else. It tastes like a cross between a red ale and a strong ale. It’s easy, very soft, like an amber/red with supple hops and a tasty amount of alcohol. It’s easy for the average Joe, but respectable enough for those who know the difference.
