DrnkMcDermott	2.4 New American White Trash Lager From HyVee in Ankeny. Pale yellow color, foamy head. Smell shows a lot of adjunct corn. Taste is pretty adjuncty and sweet. CanIHave4Beers	3.4 New American Double Freedom Bedroom Rate! Pours a hazy golden color with a medium sized head and good lacing on the glass. The aroma is hop forward with some grass, some pine, & some melon. it’s fairly sweet smelling with some graininess and a touch of booze. The beer is lightly sweet & has about a medium level of bitterness. The hop character is all over the place... Big citrus & melon with some floral and piney stuff going on. The malt character is pretty subdued for the most part... But it’s also right there the whole time... Light caramel... Some grain... Some honey. A touch sweeter than I normally go for, but just fine. AirForceHops	3.4 New American Independence Pale Ale Draft @ Iowa Taphouse. Amber, deep hazy orange color, lasting head. Aroma is Citra hops, caramel and a light spice. Flavor has a lasting dusty grain base with some mild spice mixing with the Citra hops. Mouthfeel is a little syrupy from maybe too much caramel malt. Moderate bitterness. Thursday, March 17, 2016

Initial sip is tropical fruit and orange rind, followed by caramel malt, and finishes pretty dry and a touch bitter with a splash of resinous hops. The beer burps taste like mango. Solid brew. DrnkMcDermott	3.3 New American 1789 Porter $5.99 bomber from HyVee, Ankeny. Nice roasty malt smell under the cap. Pours black with just a little brown highlighting. Taste has some peaty roast malt at front, mild sweetness of molasses, and a background of hop bitterness. Some sticky sugar on my lip. Settled in the roof of my mouth with a bit of burnt coffee. Fizzy mouthfeel is not always part of porter, but it’s welcome here to keep the flavor mixed together. Toasted marshmallow finish. I went for this one because everyone else dives into the hoppy pale ale when trying out a new brewer. I dare to be different. Sometimes. Sunday, April 19, 2015

CanIHave4Beers	3.8 New American Guardian Bottle, courtesy of myself... shared in a location remote of my dining room. Pours basically black with an espresso swirl head that manages to leave a decent lacing on the glass. The aroma is plenty roasty with some espresso, some light sweetness and a little bit of dark chocolate. The flavor is decently sweet but well balanced by a nice big roasty bitterness. It’s got some coffee and some ashiness. All together it’s not a complex beer but a well balanced and easily drinkable version of the Imperial Stout style, no glitter, but no flaws... myself I prefer flawlessness to glitter... real chill. CanIHave4Beers	3.6 New American Elves' Revenge Bottle, courtesy of a kind soul... shared in a location remote of my dining room. Pours a rust color with a small head & some lacing on the glass. The aroma is full of gingerbread cookie spice plenty of ginger, allspice, cinnamon & nutmeg. It’s got some sweetness to the aroma, but not a ton & it comes off more as a sweet spice thing than a sugary thing. The flavor follows the aroma just perfectly, gingerbread cookie spices with light hints of brown sugar & a mild sweeness. The bitterness is low but we’ll employed for balance. A really cool holiday spice beer that’s way more like a cookie than many holiday spice potpourri beers. Monday, December 22, 2014
