2.9 Middleton Absofruitelicious Cloudy, pale, thin head. Fruity hop, definitely get the Trix, those artificial fruit sugars. Harsh and in need of refinement. Again, does dumping cereal into the mash make a beer better? It might make it more fun to brew, but as a drinker I'm looking for something that's fun to drink. Monday, January 15, 2018

3.6 Middleton J Walking Grandma Hazy dark brown, thin head, sweet coconut and vanilla...nice sugars. It's not bad, but it's also a style that I usually like. Monday, January 15, 2018

3.1 Middleton Breakfast First Stout Dark brown, not a lot of head soft & sweet...meh... too sweet and simple. No, dumping cereal into the mash doesn't make the beer better. Monday, January 15, 2018

3 Middleton Double Tapered Brown Ale Draft at SB. Pours a clear burnished medium amber with a loose whitish head. Mild sweet brown sugar and artificial coconut nose. Creamy medium body with moderate carb. Light caramel and brown sugar on the mid palate with artificial coconut over the top of that. Lingering synthetic flavor finish. Monday, February 6, 2017

2.7 Middleton Semper Fi Blonde Ale Draft pour pint at Hop and Hound. Light, clean and clear golden pour with a thin fizz head. Almost completely absent aroma. Flavor is a light, slightly dusty grain, hints of honey, but provides a heavy sweetness I’d prefer to go without. A mild hop showcase late. A tiny bit creamy and cool. Overall has an odd lingering palate, but not enough flavor to be bad. The flavor that is there isn’t bad, its just a little irritating. I feel like a beer like this should drink easier, but this was more of a sipper golden ale for me. Hmmm. Monday, December 12, 2016

2.5 Middleton Thai One On On tap at Middleton, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out lemongrass, not much else. Flavour is along the same lines, with nothing much but lemongrass. Simple, clean enough but not very interesting. Friday, June 24, 2016

2.7 Middleton That's My Jam On tap at Middleton, pours a murky, filthy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out subdued strawberries and some earthy notes. Flavour is along the same lines, bringing out jammy strawberries upfront, followed by earthy biscuity notes. Dirty but fruity. Meh. Friday, June 24, 2016

2.6 Middleton You're My Boy Blue On tap at Middleton, pours a purpleish amber wth a small off-white, purpleish head. Aroma brings out tart, stale blueberries and some wheat. Flavour brings out subdued blueberries - not much more to say about this. Bland and muffled. Meh. Friday, June 24, 2016

2.7 Middleton Semper Fi Blonde Ale On tap at Middleton, pours a clear yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out light honey and biscuity malt. Flavour is fairly dry, with notes of light honey and biscuity malt. Not overly interesting but solid stuff. Friday, June 24, 2016

2.7 Middleton Mierda Fuego On tap at Middleton, pours a hazy copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of spicy jalapeño upfront, not much else. Flavour isn’t too abrasive, but definitely brings out jalapeño upfront. Not much else, but at least the spice isn’t as dominating on the flavour as it is on the tongue. Friday, June 24, 2016

3 Middleton Monkey Butt On tap at Middleton, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out piney hops upfront and biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with piney hops and biscuity malt in decent balance. A little flat and dull, but it’s alright. Decent. Friday, June 24, 2016

3.7 Middleton Triple Tapered Brown Ale On tap at Middleton, pours a deep dark red with a small beige head. Aroma brings out shitloads of coffee upfront, not getting much coconut. Flavour is huge on the coffee upfront and then follows with tons of coconut. Barely a beer at this point, but it’s quite delicious that I can forgive that. Really nice coconut and coffee bomb. 3.2 Middleton Double Tapered Brown Ale On tap at Middleton, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a small beige hear. Aroma brings out coconut and dark fruits. Flavour is similar, with coconut, dark fruits and coffee. The coconut flakes come through at the end. Fruity and coconuty. Solid stuff. Friday, June 24, 2016

3 Middleton Busted Nut Porter On tap at Middleton, pours a deep dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out light cocoa and a little toasted malt. Flavour is weird, with notes of coconut and dry cocoa. Dusty and dry. Decent but a little off the mark. Friday, June 24, 2016

2.7 Middleton 14 Steps Stout On tap at Middleton, pours black with a medium thick tan head. Aroma brings out lots of toasted peanuts, as well as some burnt notes. Flavour is more burnt than anything, with burnt toast and only a touch of peanut butter. I hoped for more. Still, decent. Friday, June 24, 2016

3.2 Middleton That's My Jam Draft - Sweet mango notes. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Mango sweetness, touch of strawberry and a little dryness. I would never guess strawberry, but it was enjoyable if yo like mango. Saturday, May 7, 2016

3 Middleton You're My Boy Blue Draft - Raw blueberry jam, not the sweet kind. Purple brown with a decent pink head. Blueberry and some malts. Not sweet or cloying with only the flavour of blueberry. Not bad. Saturday, May 7, 2016

3.3 Middleton Mierda Fuego Draught in a flight at the brewpub. The name on this one is hilarious. And, we were told that this is the base for their beer cheese soup, which is a really good idea. Pours a hazy light amber color. Nose is pretty strongly jalapeno peppers, and little else. Taste is slightly spicy without going overboard, light and pleasant. Jalapeno dominates everything in this one. Sunday, May 18, 2014

3.9 Middleton Monkey Butt Draught in a flight at the brewpub. POurs a mostly clear light amber color. Nose is hoppy and grassy, and devoid of the citrus I was expecting on it. Taste is nicely bitter and fresh, and seems slightly floral. Really a fun little IPA. Sunday, May 18, 2014

2.4 Middleton Semper Fi Blonde Ale Draught in a flight at the brewpub. Pours a slightly hazy amber color. Nose is extremely light, with only a stale hop smell on there. Taste is slightly sweet, with some slight grains coming through. Finishes weird, and I can’t quite place my finger on why... Sunday, May 18, 2014

3.5 Middleton Busted Nut Porter Draught in a flight at the brewpub. Pours a very dark brown color. Nose is very dark and roasty, with some slight sour fruitiness to it. Taste is also a little sour to me, as well as being very roasty. OK, but not the sort of porter I typically gravitate towards. Saturday, May 17, 2014

3.2 Middleton That's My Jam Draught in a flight at the brewpub. Pours a very cloudy tan color. Nose has some mixed berry elements to it and seems very fruity - smells exactly like jam, which is pretty cool. Taste is slightly sweet, and has a fair amount of berry in there. Saturday, May 17, 2014

4.2 Middleton 14 Steps Stout Draught in a flight at the brewpub. Pours a near black color. Nose is very roasty with some slight bitterness to it, and has some similarities to a Russian imperial stout. Taste is very roasty, with some oatmeal actually coming through, and a little bit of sweetness throughout. Saturday, May 17, 2014
