Skull Camp Belgian Blonde
Clear light gold pour. Thin white head. Some lace left behind in the glass. Aroma is weird like old lady’s hair spray. Kind of sweet cheap toffee and plastic. Finishes with a sharp medicinal bite and old cooked cabbage. Would make a great drain cleaner.

Skull Camp Schweat Hefen
Cloudy piss yellow pour. Thin white head on top. Nasty foot fungus aroma. This stuff stinks. Tastes much better than it smells with lots of yeast, pepper and mild banana. Definitely some wheat cracker like malts in there. Ample carbonation. Not horrible, but has some Some chemical like after taste.

Skull Camp Cream Puff (Tart Cherry)
Every once in a while a beer comes along that makes you want to slap someone it's so good. And this is one such beer. Amber colored pour with a light red hint. Thin white head on top that left some lace in the glass. Aroma of fresh ripe bing cherries and mild spices, like cinnamon and honey. Taste is tart with a mild organic sweetness. Lots of fresh ripe cherries with some mild spices mixed in. Very complex brew. Truly amazing.

Skull Camp Jack's Brood Blonde Chardonnay
Now here is an interesting brew for sure. A blonde ale barrel aged in Chardonnay barrels. Pours up a clear gold color in the glass with a small white ring of head. Sweet white grape aroma. Tastes like fresh white grapes, some grape musk. Pretty tart and very wine like. Refreshing with ample carbonation. Interesting brew for sure.

Skull Camp Schweat Hefen
A very nice stateside rendition of the classic, this one has plenty of bubblegum and banana esthers, a hint of clove, some lemon, and an ample wheat crackery backbone. Pours hazy pale yellow with a small ring of white head. A wash of active suds stirs up a kick of carbonation on each sip lending an agile mouthfeel. There is just a hint of bug spray chemical taste in the fade though.

Skull Camp Tongue Tied Rye IPA
This Rye-based IPA is brash and quite bitter, but with a relatively sweet caramel appley malt backing. Peppery hops abound in the flavor, then the pepperiness fades into a lightly resiny, but very bitter fade.

Skull Camp Cream Puff (Tart Cherry)
Lightly pinkish pour. Tight bubbled even ring of pure white head. Tons of floral honey in the aroma with cherry coming in behind it. Lightly sweet with the honey character taking precedence. Just a nip of bitterness at the tail keeps the sweetness in check. Really good.

Skull Camp Knuckle Dragger IPA
It pours slightly dark golden and clear with a white head that had good head retention. It has a bit citrus aroma and pineapple. There is a low grainy aroma with a hint of resin. There are some citrus flavors with a slightly caramel backbone. It has a bit of floral to it as well. It has a full body that is a bit syrupy in texture. The bitterness is moderately light but last well into the finish. Overall, this is an interesting beer in that the aromas and the taste sensations don't match. With that said, it is good overall.

Skull Camp Bonfire Ale (Bourbon Barrel)
Old ale on tap in Asheville, NC. Looks like a typical barleywine, but tastes like a well barrel aged Old Ale. Boozy, slightly smoky and woody aroma. This is good but the flavor is even better. Excellent use of bourbon barrel aging adds softness and complexity without overpowering the base ale. Well balanced and highly recommended.

Taps translucent caramel brown with a thin but respectable golden-buff head. Aroma features bourbon, woody, toasted malt and fruity tones, demanding a taste from any lover of barrel-aged beer. Flavor delivers roast malt, caramel, bourbon, woody, and subtle fruity notes. Mouthfeel presents average body and good fizz. Enjoy by a bonfire - or any place.

With a mocha/coffee nose, this dark mahogany brew plays up the roasty notes, but throws in some baker’s chocolate on the long roasty finish. Medium bodied, this is a stout you can session.

Skull Camp Knuckle Dragger IPA
Knuckle Dragger is a big DIPA that stays drinkable. Pouring orangy-amber with a small white head, the aroma is big caramelly and citrusy. Nice full body with a malt/hop balance that starts malty and fruity and turns towards a mildly bitter finish. Grapefruit is the primary flavor and aroma component. RERATE June 29 2019. Tap at Mellow Mushroom Burlington NC. Bitter as hell. Huge resin flavors. Burly caramel backbone. A throwback DIPA that is not afraid of its heritage. A real nut masher. Excellent.

Summerita is a spicy take on the White IPA style. Pours hazy maize with a fluffy one finger head. Aromas play up resin and citrus. Medium bodied with a wheat cracker backbone. Sprightly carbonation. Coriander is too far in the forefront of the flavor for my liking. A decent summer quenrcher though.

Underpowered for a Scottish Ale, and lacking the malt backbone and peatiness that characterize the style. Not offensive. Lightly malty with some caramel notes. Balanced clean finish. Slightly watery. Would never had guessed it was 8.5%. Came across more like a weak Irish Red.
