Yard Owl Bier Deluxe Reserve
First rating, on tap at YO. A high ABV, barrel aged saison. This runs a little harsh and hot, but it is interesting. It seems pretty hoppy, and I can't tell what kind of barrels it was aged in. Flavors of rye whiskey and a nippy, hoppy finish. Sweet aroma. I bet this would go well with one of cousin's cigars.

Yard Owl Citra Saison
Draft at YO. Attractive dark gold pour. A sugary saison with a strong note of Citra throughout. It is interesting to taste Citra in action in something other than a NE IPA. This gets a point for creativity. A good brew.

Yard Owl 270 IPA
Draft at YO. Pretty dank, sweet aroma. Flavor leans a bit metallic and lemony. Not bad but something seems not quite right to me. The background has some sweet bread in it. I wasn't taken by this one.

Yard Owl Show Pony
Draft at YO. It is called a wheat saison, and it is surprisingly tart and dry for the style. The funkiness works tho -some lactic acid sourness, a little lemon cookie. Dark blonde pour and a pleasant aroma. First rating.

Bottle, 22oz. A cloudy, pale golden beer with a small, dense, off-white head. The aroma is mostly fruity, with a touch of fruity sourness. Some pale malts and yeast and a spiced, herbal touch. It’s quite dry, with a soft carbonation and a medium body fullness. Some sourish fruityness in the flavor too, a little bitterness lurking in the back along with some pale malts. Fruity finish. A decent beer, but I’d like more complexity. 141024

Yard Owl Grisette
Rich, super hazy orange coloured body with a rich copper glow and a thin, one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of grass, hay, oranges, curacao, lemons, wheat, yeast and a hint of apple and pear sweetness. Medium-bodied; Rich wheat flavour at first with a deep orange and floral note and a sweet and slightly spicey yeast flavour at the finish. Aftertaste has a very balanced flavour with some nuances of the spices and oranges and less of the wheat and fresh/dry flavour. Overall,a very nice and satisfying beer with still a lot of flavours and a light and refreshing herbal note throughout. Great to sample this first one from the brewery! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased a few minutes ago from K&E Beverage Center here in New Paltz, New York sampled just off Albany Post Road here in New Paltz at home for US$8.49 from earlier today on 14-June-2014.

Bottle that I took to Dadsgiving! Pours a faintly hazed gold with a medium to large white head. Soft grain and musk, a little toast and some dusty hops. Medium-bodied, grainy, soft sweetness. Almost a hint of nuttiness. Toast and a bit of bitterness with some sweet crackery grain. Decent enough I guess.
