Garrold	3.1 Alnwick Brown Ale Bottle picked up at the brewery. It’s not brown. It’s a medium amber. Slim lasting off white foam. Nose has yeast and dark honey. Some nuttiness. Taste is dry and lightly bitter with a honey like sweetness on the lips. Pretty thin overall. Thin dry finish. I enjoyed my visit to this place and the server on the day was (I think) the brewer, but to be honest I didn’t get on with the beers at all, this one included. Wednesday, April 24, 2024

jjsint	3.1 Alnwick Ruby Ale Bottle bought as part of a delivery from Northumbrian Gifts and drunk at home. Deep red, very translucent with a tiny ring of off-white head. Very malty aroma, notes of berry, sweet resin and a tiny bit of pine. Sweet taste, berry-laden with sweet gritty malt. Bitterness in the finish. Watery body with soft to medium carbonation.
