Fin	2.8 Sol de Copan Cerveza de los Mayas Munich Ratebeer Group Tasting at Jonas, Garching Friday 22nd October 2021. Pours clear light chestnut, with an off white head, soft mouthfeel, lots of chocolate, really chocolate, this is not great, there is a little buzzy edge but it's a one trick pony. caribou43	2.8 Sol de Copan Cerveza de los Mayas This bottle is coming from Heinrich 3000, Kornwestheim. Drinking and sharing this bottle with my wife, few days ago, at home, in Epalinges. The color is brown and clear, a bit dark, normal carbonation, thin and white foam. At the beginning, you think that it is an aromatic and good beer but after some sips, this beverage is not that good that you could think. Nice aroma of chocolate at the nose but after it appears that it is clearly a classical and German lager with some aromas of chocolate and it was for me a bit disgusting at the final, unbalanced and too sweet and not subtle. Mousse beige, soyeuse, stable à 2 mm. Arômes de cacao en poudre de 1er prix, relents de gazoil. 1ère bouche sur le cacao brut, sans aucune harmonie. Arrière-bouche sur des fanes de pomme de terre. La longueur améliore très légèrement l'ensemble. Jambes fines, courtes, collantes. Finale faible. Goldbarren	2.3 Sol de Copan Cerveza de los Mayas Es mag daran liegen, dass ich zu sehr die europäischen, besonders belgischen, Biere mit Schokoladenaroma gewöhnt bin, aber mir persönlich war das Bier zu fade. Es ist nach einem alten Rezept der Mayas von dem deutschen Auswanderer Thomas Wagner gebraut und ich kann mir gut vorstellen, dass die Mayas damals so ein Getränk genossen haben. Und damals gab es eben noch keine Möglichkeiten, wie es moderen Brauereien haben. Ein gutes Stück Geschichte mit interessanten Geschmack. Thursday, November 1, 2018

In netter Atmosphäre werden deutsche selbstgebraute Biere und schwäbisches Essen - Schweinebraten mit Spätzle und Kartoffelsalat – angeboten. Copán Ruinas war eine bedeutende Stadt der Maya (etwa 250 bis 900). Danach wurde sie verlassen und verfiel. Die Mehrzahl der vielen Touristen besucht Honduras wegen der einmaligen Maya-Kultur. Seit 1980 gehört Copán zum Weltkulturerbe der UNESCO. 1997 lernte Thomas Wagner bei einem mehrmonatigen Hondurasaufenthalt seine spätere Frau kennen. 12 Jahre lebten sie mit ihren Kindern in Deutschland. Dann hängte er seinen gut dotierten Job als Prokurist an den Nagel, um in Honduras mit einer Gasthausbrauerei noch einmal neu durchzustarten, denn Brauen war seit seinem 20. Lebensjahr sein Hobby. Nun ist die Familie zufrieden und bekommt viel Lob von den Gästen, wenn es um das gute Bier oder das leckere Essen geht." Das wird für den europäischen Markt gemeinsam mit dem "Haus der 131 Biere" in Europa gebraut. Ich habe aber nicht herausgefunden, wo. Nahe liegt die belgische Brauerei Strubbe, welche gerne Lizenzbiere mit fremden Ländern gemeinsam braut. Es ist ein einfacher Weihnachtsbock mit mäßigen Alkoholgehalt. Durch den extra Zucker ist es aber sehr süß geraten. Sicher keine Spezialität, aber ein interessantes Bier mit toller Geschichte. Thursday, November 1, 2018
