Month old pint can A: Rich orange gold color with a short but lasting off white head. S: Muted malt forward aroma of caramel, toast and citrusy hops. T: Bitter evergreen hop notes of pine and juniper fleshed out a bit by grapefruit or lemon pith. Faint toasty malts don't live up to the nose. M: Light, crisp and dry with stiff carbonation and clean finish. O: Fairly one dimensional pine bomb. Not bad but seems to be missing something.

OK. this I think is going to turn out like the 'don't judge a book by its cover' thing. I see fig and honey on the cover of this can, so I am expecting fig and honey. It pours from a can, retrieved from total wine, into a glass and has a totally clear pale look with a nice big fluffy head. It does have a pretty looking rolling effect out of the can and into the glass. Nose is a somewhat off saison olfactory of mild weirdness. First taste however, is not what I was expecting. Its quite bitter and rude, even for a saison. Strange strong volatile near phenolic astringent bite. The alky is upfront on this one. Yes, even somewhat nasty. Let me see you find the fig and honey in this, I dare you; its virtually absent. Bait & switch I'll say on this one, quite disappointing: Sorry brewprint.

Light golden color white head. Grassy and bready aroma. Light sweet taste. Finish is a little sticky, light sweetness and some bitterness as well. Overall well done German style pils, represents the style appropriately.

draft at cary brewery. Very mild malty nose with some light pine. Taste was very light, really watery quite frankly. Some more strength in the finish with some light bitterness. Not very impressed with this one.

Can from total wine NC. Big foaming pour from a can. Very lively carbonation on the palate, nice. Man, I'm liking the cutting co2 in this brew. Actually burns the roof of my mouth a bit! Taste initially is very good hefe. Comes across like the old country stuff. In the middle it has a little bit if processed uncivil bitter bite in it. Yes, typical banana and just maybe a little bubble gum, but not as much as it should be. In the end it really is a good imitation of the old country brew. Haven't had a good hefe for a while and this is getting close to good, except that mild to medium processed feel it has on the finish.

Brüeprint Belgian Dark Strong (Bourbon Barrel)
2017 vintage in bottle. Pours deep reddish brown with a minimal ring if beige head. Oak and vanilla are there alongside deep whiskey, raisin and plum. Just a little sweet with a light nimble mouthfeel due to the champagne yeast in play. Complex and strong, but not overly heavy.

Can pour, a brownish pink color. Lightly dank strawberry aroma almost like they are a touch bad. The yeast takes over on this and imparts a musty flavor that over powers the berries. There is a lingering bitterness that shields the wheat notes and only a hint of blueberry comes through at the end, blink and you will miss it.

Brüeprint Double Dribbrue
Can pour, clear gold color. Aromas of soap and pine. There are intense grape notes, clover honey and pine needles. The aroma is quickly countered by the bitterness. A very light hint of sweetness up front helps to balance this. A traditional IPA that does a good job of balancing the hop aromas and bitterness.

Got this american IPA can form the son in law, thanks Ben. Slight haze on pale. Perfume permeates the nose. Nice big head. Big bitter hazy ipa taste, that is if haze has a taste. Thick and mouth coating resin. Yes, big nasty bitter on style IPA all th way, what else can be said, ubiquitous hazy IPA.

Brüeprint Edinbrüe (Cabernet Sauvignon, Brett)
On tap at Triangle Wines, Southern Pined NC Nose gives me oak, grape must, and malt, hint of Brett. Gorgeous red/bronze color, little head which didn't linger. Flavor is outstanding, malty tingly scotch ale, oak and grapes and Brett obvious but not dominant. The 'tingly' tastes similar to carbonation but high carbonation is not evident in mouthfeel/body. Overall outstanding.

Super clean and light (color and weight) straw blonde pour with two fingers of loose foamy white head. Nose shows fruity notes, citrus, a grassy quality, musty fruit, melon. Smells light....it's like I can smell the lack of body or weight behind the aroma.

Alisa brought this one back from NC. +++ Sampled from a can this beer poured a dark caramel brown color with a large foamy tan head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was toasty malts, caramel, yeast, wood, cola and hints of cocoa and dark fruit. Nicely complex on the nose. The flavor as toasty malts, bread crust, golden fruit, wood, caramel and hint of smoke and some astringency. Long finish. Medium bodied and smooth.

Pint can from Sam's Quik Shop in Durham. Pours clear pale pink with a small white-pinkish tinted head. Nice aroma of sweet cherry, bitter lime, mint, orange oil. Flavor is tart lime, cherry, orange, bread crust. It's not overdone and it's really just a hint of sourness. Nice flavor combo.

12 ounce can into snifter, canned on 7/28/2016. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy deep orange/copper color with a 1 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, nuttiness, toasted biscuit, raisin, plum, fig, pear, apricot, and red apple; with light notes of roast, toffee, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. A bit too fruity/yeasty aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of big caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, nuttiness, toasted biscuit, raisin, plum, fig, pear, apricot, and red apple; with light notes of roast, toffee, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Mild herbal, grassy, spicy hop bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, nuttiness, toasted biscuit, raisin, plum, fig, pear, apricot, red apple, light roast/toffee, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance; and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky/bready, and lightly slick/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Minimal warming alcohol for 8.2%. Overall this is a very nice scotch ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Rich malts, modest fruity yeast, and light earthy hop balance against sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example. I am sure the age has improved it, even though I have never had it before.

There are apparently three variants - plain, barrel aged, and (the one I've rated) barrel aged with Brett and Blackberries. That third one is amazing... if you can find it. (I have two more tucked away to age further) Cocoa, berries, bourbon barrel and leathery Brett funk.

Clear amber pour with a frothy white head that leaves light legs of lace. Nose shows caramel malt, pine and citrus. A nice peppery hop character is the highlight of the flavor here. Love the hoppy fade as it balances deftly atop the lightly sweet caramel backing.

12 oz. canned 07/25/2017. Mostly clear orange-copper with a small covering of creamy foam. Aroma of earthy squash, cinnamon, vanilla and sassafras. Flavor is the same with a bit of cocoa and toasted nut. Medium body has low-medium fizz and a decent balance. Little too much spice, but can actually taste the pumpkin which is nice. Had this first and then the base beer and it’s actually better with the spice addition which is a bummer.

On tap at Triangle Southern Pines. Slightly opaque, rocky white head. Aroma is tropical fruit and lacto sourness, flavor is only mildly sour though, with some citrus. Nice mouthfeel, moderate body and middling ’clinginess’. Mild sweet-tart, very flavorful and refreshing. Not a fan of the nose so much, but very nice on the patio Jun 30th. Another Brüeprint win. Aromas are all malt - caramel and toffee. Color is dark amber with a small white head. Taste is a bit sweet; very light bitterness. Palate is boozy, just a bit lively carbonation. Overall pretty simple, but pretty much what a wee heavy scotch ale should be - malty, boozy, sweet with the lively carbonation providing some nice balance.
