Flavour is metallic and bitter, with bready malt, a hint of toasted caramel, and some metallic notes. Obviously inferior to the classic alts in town (Uerige, Schlussel), but drinkable nonetheless. tontalus	5 Frankenheim Alt BESTES ALT!!! Das Frankenheim Alt kommt bernsteinfarben und klar ins Glas. Da die Verkostung aus einer Alt-Stange erfolgt, kann die Farbe auch zu hell eingeschätzt sein. Die feinporige Schaumkrone ist üppig bei ganz guter Stabilität. Der Geruch ist röstaromatisch, erinnert mich aber nicht an Kaffee. Beim Antrunk gute Röstaromen bei geringer Karamellsüße. Dabei sehr rezent. Beim Abgang noch etwas intensivere Röstung ohne Karamell ohne neue Aromen. Habe bisher wenige Altbiere getrunken, aber diese ist für mich das Referenz-Alt. dragnet101	3.6 Frankenheim Alt Bottle from Beers of Europe. Clear copper brown with nice consistent white top. Aroma of brown bread, nuts, caramel, malts and sugar. Taste start a nice moreish version of the aroma but there is bitter slight ashy note in the finish to give an interesting contrast. Medium bodied, light chewy but slick, nice zing to the carbonation without being overdone. This is by far the best of the 5 altbiers I have tried so far. There is a nice balance to it and its quite sessionable. No doubt there are better out there but this one clicked well for me. Thursday, December 22, 2022

Idiosynkrasie	1.9 Frankenheim Blue 330ml bottle. Clear, dark brown colour with red shimmer and average, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Cola aroma with light grassy and cardboard aspects, malty undertones. Taste is sweet-ish malty and sourish citrusy, hints of cola, citric acid, sugar. Dissolved sugar enriched and minimally acid thinned, watery texture, minimally astringent and simultaneously slightly cloying palate, medium to coarse, prickly carbonation. No real vestiges of beer detectable, a malty touch accompanies the cola - a starter party drink for teens. Friday, May 13, 2022

Aroma of roasted malt, nutty, caramel, spices. Taste is similar with good malt, caramel and a sweet taste, very drinkable and sweet, a good slightly more bitter finish. Feels a bit too watery though, not a big deal overall. Medium body and slightly oily texture, medium carbonation. Easy 4.8% abv. Not the most interesting maybe but quite enjoyable and good. biilz	2.9 Frankenheim Alt Аромат странный, сильно дрожжевой, легкие хлебные и карамельные нотки, немного неприятного кислого и горького концентрированного запаха. Цвет темный, карамельный, пенка весьма неплоха, держиться долго. Вкус питкий, сразу много солода, легкие карамельные нотки, при глотке легкая кофейная составляющая соответственно весьма сильная кислинка. Есть какие то нотки от кофе, снова дрожжи, хлеб и очень неприятные тухлые нотки, как будто мокрый картон, хотя не думаю что это дефект, скорее полная дисгармония этого составляющего.
