3.7 Rittmayer Aisch Lager Rustic Lagerbier from gravity at Rittmayer Aisch. Faint notes of Diacetyl but nothing more than acceptable. Plenty of floral hops, chewy pale malt and a lingering dry finish. Saturday, July 24, 2021

4.3 Rittmayer Aisch Lager 50cl seidla im biergarten at the brewery. Gravity poor. 3 hours after opening on a tuesday. 12 o clock. Pours hazy deep yellow Golden with a White creamy head. Honey suckle, grass and pomelo. Soft and juicy. Green and sticky. Long fresh malty finish. Its sweet and juicy - like a good “new england franconian Kellerbier”. Superb. 3.7 Rittmayer Aisch Lager Das einzige Bier der Brauerei Rittmayer in Aisch, vom Faß vor Ort (zu Spanferkelbraten mit Klößen). - Helles Braungelb, leicht trüb. - In der Nase leichte, angenehme fränkische Hopfenherbe, zarte Hefe. - Antrunk mild brotig und zart karamelmalzig mit schöner hintergründiger Hopfenherbe, leichte Orangenschale, milde Kräuter. Schlank, mild perlend rezent. Tuesday, October 2, 2018

2.4 Rittmayer Aisch Lager 500 ml bottle as Rittmayers Aascher Hausbier. BB 22/09/17. Thanks Timo Aah! Slightly cloudy golden color with a small white head. Sweetish malty aroma. Diacetyl, malt, sweetness and cardboard in the flavor. No. Strong buttery rancidness ruins this. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone Friday, August 4, 2017

2.9 Rittmayer Aisch Lager Draft at the Rittmayer Aisch in 2013: Golden orange with some haze. Thick and sticky, but broken, white head. Fruity nose of Turkish apricot, apple jelly, and a buried note of poundcake. Quite unclean, with a cheese- and paint-like yeast note, and perceptible DMS. Soft carbonation. Thinnish body. Delicate floral hops round out the soft honeylike malt on entry. Minerals and an ensuing toast quality give the body some firmness. A detracting sugary sweetness gives the beer too much weight and ends up obscuring any malt intricacies that might develop. Hints of doughy yeast add to the unclean fermentation and also contribute an unwelcome bitterness. Note of fusel alcohol (hairspray) is found as well. A pleasant kiss of honeysuckle hops is felt late, although the predominantly muddled is tarnished by the ongoing weight of unclean yeast. Having heard a number of good things about this beer, it was disappointing to find it so underattenuated and marred by some fusels, heavy sugars, and even a note of DMS, albeit a minor one. On this particular day, it just wasn’t to be. That’s Franconia for ya. Tuesday, April 18, 2017

Wednesday, December 9, 2015

3.1 Rittmayer Aisch Lager Draft at Rittmayer Aisch. Hazy orange with a slowly-cascading white head with a patchy and foamy texture and long retention. The aroma is nicely juicy, a lot of mandarin orange / jelly aromas, but it’s ruined by the strong diacetyl, giving it a strange butter and peanut butter character. Sugary browned bananas and other spoiled fruit make an appearance as well. Seems like it would smell quite nice if not for being in such poor shape. Medium body, creamy, full carbonation, low acid, medium bitterness, mostly sweet, very much like classic kellerbier of the area. Thursday, June 13, 2013

3.4 Rittmayer Aisch Lager (draught at the brewpub) Hazy, deep golden colour with a medium-sized off-white foamy head. Slightly milky and yeasty cara-malty aroma with notes of pears and herbal spicy hops. Moderately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Cara-malty and slightly fruity taste with herbal hoppy spice in the background; moderately sweet malt-accented finish with a delicately hoppy bitterness. Balanced and moreish Franconian Lager. 25.X.11 Monday, October 31, 2011

3.3 Rittmayer Aisch Lager It’s hazy, warm golden with a huge, creamy head, and the aroma has notes of bread, flower, light butterscotch and citrus. The flavour is light to moderately sweet with notes of bread, light butterscotch, citrus, and the finish is dry with a very light bitterness. It’s soft, but still refreshing. Friday, May 27, 2011

3.4 Rittmayer Aisch Lager Draught: Deep golden, hazy, lazy carbonation, beaten egg-white-like foam; fruity pale-malty nose with light herbal-hoppy traces and presumably hints of smoke(?); light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, very soft; fruitiness (bananas) in the sweet-bitter finish. Nice brew......... Thursday, June 4, 2009
