2 Biere A La Chataigne du Ventoux et dAlbion Bottle: A very sweet beer, the taste from the chestnuts seams to give it a lot of sweetness. It is quit refreshing when it is hot, but I think it get too much. Monday, June 20, 2005

1.8 Limonaderie du Ventoux Biere au Petit Epeautre Bottle. Cloudy dirty pale colour. Faint aroma of orange vomit. Thin watery beer with a dirty dish-water flavour. Some hints of orange peel. Not very good. The brewery is actually a lemonade maker who is branching out into beer production to make ends meet. There is an encouraging growth of traditional breweries in the south of France, but this one just doesn't cut the mustard. We popped in to visit, but the brewer was too busy bottling lemonade to sell us any of his beers. His stuff is, however, available in the major supermarkets in the area. 2.6 Limonaderie du Ventoux Biere au Petit Epeautre Medium hazy gold-yellow with medium shortish lasting off white head. Light yeasty and spicey grassy aroma. V low carbonation with medium soft to watery body. Mild hops and some faint wheat beer character even though the label says barley is the only grain. An interesting traditional local brew. Probably quite refreshing after you cycle to the brewery or sitting in a nearby cafe watching the Tour de France go by. Saturday, June 21, 2003
