Nice nose reminding me of a chill spring night, with honey, heather and other flowers. Sweet, honeyish, heathery flavor, almost syrupy texture. A bit on the warming side. Spices, honey, sweetness, some heather and a good oxidation in the aroma. The oxidation is very evident in the flavor too, and so is the honey sweetness and spices, as well as heather. Raisins as well, but in the background. Even though it’s 19% ABV, the alcohol isn’t pushing. Full-bodied and warming. Really pleasant, well-crafted, balanced mead. (080229) Friday, March 21, 2008

This is warm golden and the aroma has notes of honey, alcohol and cellulose thinner, or something similarly biting. The mouthfeel is oily. Honey and alcohol are mixed with floral herbs to create an interesting aroma. Sweet flavors dominate here with the herbs coming in from behind to keep things interesting.
