Cunningham	2.5 Abdysh-Ata Zhivoe Pivo Svetloe Hazed golden in the glass and a fine head. Moderate intensity in the aroma. Mellow sweetness and a moderate bitterness. Ok carbonation level. Malty, herbal/grassy, corn and mild fruity flavor. Probably stayed to long in the basement and a veeery long travel from its original birthplace to Kumlefjorden in Norway. yngwie	2.2 Abdysh-Ata Zhivoe Pivo Svetloe Can. A lightly hazy golden colored beer with a finger-thick white head. The aroma is sweetish, corn-like and fruity, with a touch of pale malts and apple. It’s medium bodied and softly carbonated, rather sweet, with flavors of corn, fruityness and apple. Some hay and bready pale malts. Medium length finish. Light bitter finish. Funny name (in the USSR (and subsequently the ex-USSR) ‘barkhatnoe’ (velvet) was a generic name for dark lagers). This is closer to ‘yantarnoe’ (amber). Saturday, March 18, 2023

Nose is phenols, wheat, citrus, very creamy and a bit off-putting but not seriously bad. Grainy wheat flavor, clove, bananas, some egg. Thick and heavy.
