Satsuma Weissbier Dunkel
Thick mouth, sourness through out with some chocolate notes. Could be worse.

Bottled. Hazy amber, creamy head. Fruity tangerine aroma. Mid sweet with light body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Lightly spicy with some caramel and faint bitterness.

Almost clear, with a rather low head. Aroma of banana and clove, with barley malts as well. Slightly sweet, a touch of funk as well. Flavor is rather bitter for a weiss, with decent wheat malt flavor, but barley malts and noticeable hops as well. A rather bitter finish too. Decent beer, with a surprising hoppy finish, although almost confused as to whether it wants to be a weiss or a lager. Slightly thin and fizzy, too.

Satsuma Weissbier Dunkel
A light amber color, similar to a Schneider, with a medium head and lots of bubbles. Not near as dark as expected. Quite citrusy aroma, fruity, lemon or grapefruit, with spices and a touch of caramel. Flavor has bananas as well as citrus, amber malt, a bit of caramel and chocolate, and cloves. Light body, also medium dunkel character, more like an amber. Finish is quite bitter, so it must have a good amount of hops. Rather different for the style, though well balanced and interesting. A bit too light. The dry, bitter finish is decent and very original. Could be richer and have more of the standard wheat malt punch.

Satsuma Weissbier Dunkel
An orangey, rather iced tea colored beer with a foamy beige head. Has a weiss scent of bananas and spice with a touch of malt, crystal malts perhaps? Active carbonation, Some banana and cotton candy sweetness with a bit of mineral "twang" to it. Quite tasty and has a nice feel. I’d like to have several more of these tonight but alas, I only have one.

Found this at the airport in Kagoshima last weekend. Golden straw colored, active carbonation. Loads of Banana, sweet wheat, a bit of bubblegum. Sweet grainy flavor has a bit of tartness to it, not too much spice. A nice find in shochu land. I was able to find 5 new beers on this trip and 10 new sakes!

Poor notes. Huge banana clovey nose, big bananay mouth and clovey finish. Festivals suck for note taking sometimes.
