Aroma has ripe apple, wood, cellar notes and some funk. Taste has rich apple flavor, ripe apple, apple core, cellar notes, bitter apple, some mild acidity and light funky. Aroma brings out lots of horse blanket upfront, with a lot of funk, and some sweet apples. Flavour is wonderfully deep, with loads of barnyard funk, sweet apples, and horse blanket. Pours almost like beer, has a large head which suprisingly sticks, super carbonated, amber hazed body, Aroma is juicy, lightly medicinal and barnyardy, floral. Spritzy palate with a full-flavoured medium apple fruit character, and a soft farmhouse influence. Nose: rich apple juice, woody acidity, light yeasty funk (lvl-7)-pungency Attack: soft crisp, bright fruity apple Mid-palate: micro-tingly-fizzy, (lvl-3-sweetness), fruity tangy soft acidic, woody unfiltered apple juice Finish: hint of alcoholic tang, mild tart, residual purity of apple flavour Summary: Extremely natural and clean tasting apple cider with just a touch of woody funk and enough sweetness to satisfy the palate. (lvl-5)-pungency Attack: tingly-soft fizzy Mid-palate: pear juice, wet cedar woodiness, bright short (lvl-5-sweetness), white grape, light tangy Finish: residual apple juice sugars, mild woody exhale, off-dry slightly palate rough finish. Summary: This has a very aromatic cedar woodiness, along with a pleasantly fruity pear-apple-white grape taste going on. Apple-forward example without much farmhouse character. A good fit to the raw milk pont lévesque and petit livarot from their own cattle sold at the domain, but not a spectacular Normandy cider. Lovely full apple juice body quite high carbonation. Utterly luscious balance between fruityness and the dryer aspects, to me this is a beatutiful medium-sweet cidre. Slightly farmy whiff on the nose! Very fizzy in th emouth. Full of apply flavour, quite sweet and a nice finish. 2012 vintage - golden in colour with a fizzy white head. Hardly any nose, just the tiniest sweet smell. Ver fizzy in the mouth. Quite a sweet tasting cider, not tons of flavour. A bit sweet for my taste. (2012 score was 2.9) Saturday, September 13, 2014
