Gulf Brewery Smoke Stack Rauchbier
Draught at Gulf Brewery, Hahndorf. Poured a hazed orange-amber with a few mm of dense off-white foam that retained very well and laced very well. Carbonation high, lively and very fine. Aroma of moderately strong smoked meat with hints of malt. Taste is strong smoked ham with hints of boiled salted peanuts. Light to medium body. Smooth with not too much smoke on a lingering finish.

Gulf Brewery Trade Winds I.P.A.
Draught at Gulf Brewery, Hahndorf. Poured a crystal clear gold with 5mm of dense white foam that diminished slowly to a blotchy cap that laced very well. Carbonation low to moderate, average and fine to coarse. Aroma dominated by malt; no obvious hops. Taste is initially malty with very low piney hops but is followed by a tart after-taste. Light body. Smooth but very tart/sour on a lingering finish. Tastes like home brew gone wrong.

Gulf Brewery Smoke Stack Rauchbier
191216. Bottle from A Point of Difference Liquor. Not too over the top with the smoke which is good. Brown in colour with a sand coloured head. Campfire smoke in the aromas and smoked bacon in the flavour, what more could you want.

Gulf Brewery Humpback Pale
071116. It has been a while since I have had a Gulf Brewery beer, too long in fact. I?m glad that I found this bottle on line at A Point of Difference Liquor, as you never see these beers here in Brisbane. This pale ale is as good as I recall the other Gulf Brewery beers that I have had to be and at 4.2% ABV it is very sessionable. The finish is faintly musky, earthy and perfumey and the flavour stays in your mouth for a long time after the beer has departed. Vibrant orange colour with a thinnish body however it does feel fuller bodied once it hits the mouth. It looks as though they have spruced up the labels since the last time I had one of their beers. This is an enjoyable easy drinking BBQ beer. The more of this beer that you drink the more citrus flavour you get.
