West Monkton Rampant Rosie Scrumpy Medium Sweet
500ml bottle at home on 19 June 2011. Orange colour. Strange nettley cat piss aroma to go with green apple. Tart acidity on the palate. Some musky notes. Not really medium sweet - reasonably dry actually. Seemed rather short of structure and body. Not great.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of chriso. Pours a hazy yellow with a small, rough white head. Very interesting spicy aroma, somewhat tart. Medium body, very low carbonation, tart apple notes, some sulphur and vanilla, again spices. Extremely astringent with loads of tannins. A true country cider. 230511

West Monkton Harvest Gold Scrumpy
Mildly farmy apple and leafy, woody aroma. Clear deep copper coloured body with no legs on the glass. Musty, damp apples and woody leafiness to the subdued flavour. Quite dry and still. That was four pounds that could have perhaps been better spent... Sampled at fridge temperature and room temperature. Litre jug purchased in Paignton, Devon, England.
