neongolden	3.5 McKeown Original Draft (473ml can from Intermarche, Quebec City - remnants after cooking with it) Pours clear bright cold with basically no head but some fizzing bubbles. Aroma is fairly mild, sweet red apples with honey drizzle, some green apple/pear crispness, a little apple skin bite. Flavour is rather sweet, crushed red apples with some slight grip of skin, a little floral honey, a bit of green apple crispness and whisps of tartness but on the whole sweet throughout the sip. Light bodied, a little oily with a bit of cling to the glass. Solid stuff, not really my bag but well made sweet-ish cider for easy drinking and good to cook with. Thursday, January 13, 2022

neongolden	3 McKeown Bone Dry (473ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours clear pale gold with big bubbles in the liquid and no head. Notes of fresh red apples with the perception of some sweetness despite being a dry cider, some slightly spicy notes of fruit skin and pepper, vague accents of other fruits, pretty clean, straight-forward, semi-crisp finish. Lightish body, light to moderate carbonation. Bought for cooking but alright to taste, nothing objectionable, not really exciting either. Monday, April 27, 2020

JStax	3.8 McKeown Poire 750 ml bottle poured into a lager glass. The perry is a clear gold with a fizzy head of white foam that dissipates quickly. Sweet pear skins with a little bit of funk and caramelized glazed pears coming through in the finish. A bit of apple pie spices come through as well. Earthy and sweet. A great perry. czar	2.8 McKeown Sumac on tap at griendel, qc. unclear peach-pink pour without a head, very few bubbles making their way through, no lacing. tart peppery berries, faint fruitiness - green strawberries perhaps; fragrant candles, a tad wax-ey and perfumey, light to medium acidity - rather sharp notes; floral notes but without a stubborn tannic leaf astringency, pepper, salt, other minerals. moderate to low carbonation, light body, tart tannic-citrusy finish. typhina seems closer to typhus, here. let us question this "master" series - not a great duo at all. sebletitje	4.1 Leduc-Piedimonte Cidre de Glace 375ml bottle via trade with Asheft, thanks Alex, split in two with my uncle. 2008 Harvest. Couleur amber, caramel, le tout offrant un léger filament huileux sur les rebords du verre. Arôme est assez classique dans la lignée cidre de glace avec pas mal de belles effluves de pommes et un généreux bouquet caramélisé de pommes pressées. Palais met en valeur le profil des pommes alernant sur un léger résineux et une douceur de sucre résiduel caramel. Le tout est très frais, parfait en dessert avec un quasi 11% de volume passant sans problème. Petite pointe acerbe parvient tout de meme à percer en fin de bouche offrant ce cacractère de pomme grinçant un peu aux dents. Cidre parfait mettant bien en valeur des variétés canadiennes. AlainG	2.5 McKeown Hors-Série Houblon C’est trop pâle pour être charmant. Ça sent e houblon et les pommes, ce qui forme un arôme particulier, qui ressemble à un diachylon. Le goût est lui aussi, étrange à sa façon. C’est acidulé, c’est houblonné, c’est amer et ça a des élans d’aspirine. Peut-être qu’il y a des épices au travers ça, mais ce n’est pas clair. Ça sent plutôt bon. En bouche on goûte à l’acidité du fruit, c’est aussi minéral et poivré. Les saveurs sont de pommes jeunes, ou peut-être hors saison, cueillies depuis longtemps. L’odeur est de pommes mûres, de pommes cuites avec la pelure, de canneberges fraîches et de fleurs printanières dans un champs rustique. Ça sent bon mais c’est faible, ce n’est pas intense.
