Clear pale golden colour, bubbly white foam head that dissipates away to a thin rim and aroma of ripe pear, fleshy & fruity. Taste is sweetish, pear flesh, alittle initial straw & biscuit, hint of vanilla and slightly tart fruit notes. Medium bodied, light carbonation, medium peary finish. Quite drinkable. Theydon_Bois	3.5 Severn Cider Medium Sparkling Perry Bottle at home, from an online cider peddler whom I can't recall, 29/10/23. Pale golden yellow with a good sized white cap that thins to a swirl, carbonation evident. Nose is sweet edged pears, herb, straw, light sugars. Taste comprises bitter sweet pears, tannins, apple core, light sugars, straw, herb. Medium bodied, light spritzy carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough easy drinking perry ... tasted less sweet than it smelt which was a bonus for me. Sunday, October 29, 2023

Aroma brings out a honey character, with medium dry pears, fermented notes, vinegar, and pear core. Flavour is sweet, with honied pears fermented pears and vinegar. Aroma brings out gentle farmhouse funk, sweet sugars, and a touch of apple skins. Flavour is medium sweet, with an earthy, old funk, gentle yeast, and apple core. Edgy windfall yeast, Bramley, crab and calamine nose, mellow fizz, some bubblegum, good pucker of tang and interest. Disinfectant hints, in a good way. A bit rustic as it should be. TasteExports34	5 Severn Cider Box Kernel SV (Bottle) Totally unique, perhaps not for everyone and may take you by surprise- but never have I tasted a cider, nor anything else for that matter, with such a distinct, yet warmly familiar taste. Nick Bull struck gold when he saved this apple and made this cider. It smells gorgeous, has a beautiful, golden/orange colour to it that just oozes a real sense of ‘Gloucestershire’. The taste, once you have adjusted to it, seems more rewarding to me every time I drink it, it goes down incredibly easy and if you’re a fan, it is easy to drink lots of the stuff so be careful! Personally I like to drink it with some good ol’ Double Gloucester cheese and crackers. Though they’re other ciders (and perry!) are also brilliant, I hope they continue making this as long as they are able for it has become my personal favourite. Monday, December 31, 2018
