1.7 Beijing Beer Special Draft 10º Aroma: 4. Appearance: 2. Taste: 4 metallic, a bit grassy, but skunky, no good. Palate: 1. Watery as water. Overall: 6. Although it is reasonably better than the crushing majority of the Chinese pale lagers, it is still shite. Saturday, December 17, 2016

1.4 Asahi Kanpai Draft Beer 500 ml can bought at Aeon Supermarket in Fashion Walk, Causeway Bay. Piss pale golden yellow colour; One-quarter finger head and soapy white foam which fades in 20 seconds; Minimal sticky lacing with active carbonation; Slightly pungent and sweet smell of malt, with sugar, wet cardboard, chalk dust and faint grass; Close to medium sweet taste of malt, with chalk dust, wet cardboard, syrup, light bread, light lemon and very light bitter grassy hops; Light body, watery palate; Mouth feel is quite malty but cloying macro with strong dusty wet paper tastes throughout. Light bread with testable boozy undertone. Ugh!... Hoppiness is faint grass nose, thin lemon and grassy taste. Bitterness is very low not enough to counter the sweetness for an abrupt, low-fi bitter semi finish; Slightly after taste. Cloying and papery to mouth. Comments: If you thought a Chinese macro without rice adjuncts will taste better, think again: this one is full-malt, but also poorly attenuated, annoyingly sweet and full of dusty wet papers. Undrinkable and untoastable. Drain pours! Tuesday, June 3, 2014

1.5 Beijing Chun Sheng Beer 10.5º (Original Draft) Bottle brought and enjoyed in China. Labeled 10.5P with 3.7% I assume that this is the correct beer. The images looks identical to the one I had. Light fluffy white head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Clear light yellow like color. Aroma of mild malt (or rice like) notes. Hint of sour hoppy like feel. Light to medium bodied with an average carbonation. Light sweet and bitter flavor. Light bitter finish. Nothing special here. Friday, December 2, 2011

1.1 Beijing Jing Pin Sheng Beer 10º (Quality Draft) Can. A clear, slightly pale golden beer with a small, white head. Very weak nose, fruity, grainy and with a faint spiced touch. Thin and watery on the palate with a touch of flavors. Grains, fruits and a hint of bitterness, leading to a finish that ends almost before it starts, and has a corn-like, fruity and bitter touch. It’s slightly papery too on the palate. Not really bad, just super-boring and a complete waste of good water. 101006 Wednesday, October 6, 2010
