Metalchopz	3.6 HELM Mélissa Hazy golden colour with a white head, average retention and some decent streaky creamy lacing. Sour aromas with a nice touch of the lemon balm. The taste is a sour blonde base with the tart showing, as lighter in alcohol. Lemony notes help out, and some of the sourness lingers a bit more. A nice light sour ale with lemon balm added for that natural touch. Monday, April 22, 2024
Metalchopz	3.8 HELM Sweet Brown Baby Jesus A very slight haze, brown-amber colour with golden highlights. The head is frothy, light-beige with good retention and thick, creamyish lacing. Chocolate malt aromas with a touch of caramel malt, and some decent grassy hops to conclude. The mouthfeel is crisp with a good drying finish. Toasty malt flavours with a tad caramel and the hops well-blending in the end. A pretty good, hoppier Brown Ale with a touch more alcohol that does the job. Monday, April 8, 2024
Metalchopz	3.7 HELM Prince-Arthur A fairly clean golden-amber colour with a small off-white head, average stay and light lace. Spicy, rye-like grains, alcohol warming, with some hoppy bitterness, hints of wheat-banana for aromas. The cloves come out a little more in the taste, but still blends well with the barley, tad wheat and mild grassiness. A nice stronger Belgian amber beer that different, with only cloves as a spice in here. Saturday, April 6, 2024
Metalchopz	3.8 HELM Sans Souci Hazy, lightly unfiltered as well, golden colour, maybe an amber light hue. A whitish small cap, average stay and some decent lacing spots. Fruity nose with some sourness and hints of salt, coriander. The flavours blend even better the sour notes with the saltiness, spices, fruitiness and light tart. Another good sumac brew, as I am really enjoying this natural beauty added to beers. Friday, March 22, 2024
Metalchopz	3.5 HELM Dark Clark Pours a darker brown colour, clean, with ruby-amber highlights. The head is creamyish, fluffy, light beige with good retention and leaving thick frothy lacing. Roasted barley aromas with hints of smokiness, molasses. The roasted malt is blended with grassy hops that lingers. The mouthfeel is wet, with a building, late dryness. Metalchopz	3.7 HELM St-Joseph Lightly hazed, golden colour with an amber hue. The head is white, frothy, decent lasting and leaving nice lacing. Mild citrus aromas with yeast notes, hints of berries and tropical fruits. Some decent herbal touches in the taste that give a nice drying finish. Straw malt base, a tad spiciness, and some good citrus zest. Quite a lot going one for a 4% ABV brew. - nicely done. Sunday, March 17, 2024
Metalchopz	3.7 HELM Sgt. Pepper Fairly clean, light golden-yellow colour with a frothy white head, good retention and thick foamy lacing. Peppery aromas over lemon zest, some Belgian-Saison yeast and a nice herbal touch. The pink pepper has a different feel in the taste, than black pepper. Blends smoother with the lemon peel-tart, herbs and yeast. An interesting lower alcohol Saison with good bitterness, dryness and a tad peppery. Monday, March 11, 2024
Metalchopz	3.8 HELM Zombie Quite an interesting mix of things here! Some vinegar notes in the aromas, among a touch of Bourbon, some darker grains and hints of sweetness. The taste shows the rye flavours with a tad vinous-sourness. Some grassiness balancing things. Not really thick in the mouth, and the finish is fairly light. Mildly hazed, amber colour with a big frothy warm-beige head, good retention and creamy lacing. A bunch of stuff going on here, but it all really nicely blends together with nothing offensive, nor too strong. Thursday, March 7, 2024
Metalchopz	3.9 HELM Pompeiipa Hazy, golden-amber colour with a big white, creamy-frothy head that stays a while and leaves good lacing. Caramel malt base with some nice blending oats, mild fruitiness and grassiness. The hops do show up more with the grassy notes, in the taste with the caramel, soapy-oats and a beautiful citrus zest finale lingering. Lightly wet mouthfeel to start with, but getting some nice dryness pretty quickly and continues building. Quite a well-brewed American IPA with the balance of caramel, grass and citruses. Metalchopz	3.9 HELM Microdose A very slight haze, amber colour with a frothy, light-beige head, good retention and full, thick fluffy-foamy lacing. Fruity malt aromas, mild caramel, hints of farm scent from the deeper, grassy hops in the background. The hops show up more in the taste, lasting a while, creating a nice light, building dryness. Caramel malts linger. Quite a nice strong English ale that goes down very nicely, and hoppier than usual giving a nice dryness to cut the richness. Tuesday, January 23, 2024
Metalchopz	3.7 HELM Jamsine Bright, light golden-yellow colour with a white cap, decent stay and nice foamy lacing left. Perfumy jasmine aromas with some citrus, herbal notes. Mineral water base flavours with the jasmine, mild citrus zest and hints of honey. Quite a refreshing, lightly perfumy blended with other great ingredients. Monday, December 18, 2023
Metalchopz	3.7 Helm Rousse du Parc Clean, darker amber colour with some golden highlights. A big frothy light-beige head, very good stay and loads of fluffy, thick lacing. Fresh apple nose over the caramel malts and toasted notes. The rye adds some nice, mild spiciness to the barley, and the apples are still freshening stuff. Good hoppiness in the finish, with some grassiness lingering and building dryness. Hints of toasted bread, and gets a tad hazy as it pours. Quite a nice, so-called "deluxe" Red Ale with apples that blend with the rest, and that rye touch. Tuesday, November 21, 2023
Metalchopz	3.7 Helm Clémentinou Lightly hazy, bright golden-yellow colour with a frothy-bubbly white cap, average stay and a few foamy lace spot. Clementine aromas with the sourness, then the cherries come out. Sour in the taste with the clementines and light tartiness. A nice mild dryness with the fruitiness lingering. Metalchopz	3.7 HELM Smoky Bernie Lightly unfiltered, amber colour with some golden highlights. Warm-white, frothy-creamy head, good retention and foamy-creamy lacing. Apple aromas with the smoked malts. The smokiness comes out more in the taste, lingering with other fruitiness, maltiness. Somewhat dry in the finish with mild grassy hops. Bitterness builds cutting the richness, making it easier to drink. A well-balanced English Pale Ale with good smokiness. Wednesday, July 26, 2023
Metalchopz	3.8 HELM Ambraye ! Clean, light amber colour with golden highlights. A nice, big, creamy, warm light-beige head, very good retention and loads of foamy-creamy lacing. Fresh green apples, pear nose with leaves, herbal notes. The mouthfeel is drying enough to not be thick and too rich, but not drying more in the finish. Fruity flavours with maybe a touch of wheat, hints of peach. Malty base with a nice blend of mild hops. Gets a tad hazy with time and the mouthfeel is kind of creamy and smooth. A nice Belgian touch on an amber ale that is quite balanced with nothing sticking out. Tuesday, July 25, 2023
Metalchopz	3.7 HELM Open Season Clean amber colour with a creamy-frothy warm cap, good retention and foamy lacing streaks left. Grainy cereal aromas with hints of spiciness and herbal hops. The spicy notes come out more in the taste with the hops taking a seat in the background, and the grainy malt base adding a fruity, sweeter side to this. The hops come to cut this in the end, and crisp up the mouthfeel, dry up the finish. Another easy-drinking beer from HELM with a nice specialty grain twist on an amber. Tuesday, July 25, 2023
Metalchopz	3.6 HELM Bloomin' Dré Hazy golden colour with an orange hue, some particles showing at last pour with a creamy whitish head, good retention and light lacing. Banana-peach aromas with a herbal touch and hints of grapefruit peel. This last fruit comes out a little more in the taste, giving a soft dryness. The basil is light across the board, but does add some decent herb notes. A good wheat base adding fruitiness. Quite a nice, refreshing Witbier with some grapefruit and basil added. Metalchopz	3.7 Helm Gris-Gris Lightly hazy, bright yellow, light-golden colour with a big frothy-soapy white head, good stay and some foamy-soapy lacing. Fresh lemon zest, mild juice with Saison yeast. The taste is mild, as this is a 4% ABV Grisette, but the lemon zest and tad of its juice that give a touch of sourness is nicely blended. Light tart on the tongue and decent dryness. Quite a nice refreshing, light Saison with good lemon notes. Wednesday, April 19, 2023

Metalchopz	3.7 Helm Martïne à Münich Clean, amber colour with a golden hue. The head is off-white, frothy, bubbly with average stay and some mild foamy lacing spots. Big cereal aromas of malty grains with the fruitiness of Oktoberfest, and light spiciness. The mouthfeel is refreshing, crisp and with decent dryness in the finish. The taste shows mineral water, spices, rye, cereal and graininess lingering with the touch of hops. Very well done. Friday, March 17, 2023
Metalchopz	3.6 Helm Bloomfield Pretty clean so far. Light golden colour with a white cap, not too big and leaving a little coating on the brew and around. Spicy, grassy aromas with the coriander and hints of citrus, bananas. Wet, refreshing mouthfeel with just a tad dryness. The orange peel show up a little more and the spices are nicely balanced. Not too much wheat, but enough to give that banana touch. A bit syrupy for my likings, but overall - a nice witbier. Just wish it was less filtered. Wednesday, February 15, 2023
Metalchopz	3.4 HELM Sour Pickle OK, this is an interesting sour... reading the tag. I am intrigued. Lightly hazed, golden colour with a small bubbly head that disappears quickly, and no lacing is left. Kind of herbal in the nose, with hints of dill, not as powerful as expected, and some mustard. The sourness shows up a bit in the taste, but still, not overly. The herbal-dill duo is here. Some citrus notes as well, a touch medicinal. Metalchopz	3.5 HELM Du Parc dans l'Champ A light hazed, amber colour with a golden highlight. The frothy head is a warm light-beige colour with decent stay and minimal lacing. A blend of caramel malt base and apples for aromas. The caramel really comes out in the taste, but is cut short by the mild grassy hops, both lingering. Not too thick of a mouthfeel, and not dry in the end. The rye is kind of hidden in here, but does come out eventually in the aftertaste, mixing some light spiciness with the hops. Refreshing, and goes down well for those who like a red ale with lots of caramel notes. Friday, February 10, 2023
Metalchopz	3.9 HELM Thym Toé, Bloom! Lightly hazed, light golden colour with a frothy white cap, good stay and thick foamy lacing. If you do not like herbal notes, you won't enjoy this one - try another! I love thyme, rosemary so adding the lemon instead of orange peel to this witbier base is totally for me. The herbs come out very well in the aromas over the wheat and oat base. The herbs then blend well with the hops, or do its job. The refreshing, witbier base with the spices and wheat all very well-balanced. I totally love this one, and will buy more if available yearly. Wednesday, February 1, 2023

Orange juice aromas for base with some lemon zest, mild herbal notes and medicinal hints. The citrus continues into the taste with decent hops. Metalchopz	3.5 Helm Clark A fairly clean golden colour with a frothy white head, good stay and leaves nice thicker foamy lacing. Lightly grassy, herbal nose with a touch of spiciness from the mild straw malts. The cereal grains do come out in the taste with the spicy and hops being in the background this time. The mouthfeel is lightly smooth, oil with a bit of dryness in the finish. Hints of pears lingers, and even a tad bitterness shows up. An easy-drinking Pils that goes down very well. Metalchopz	3.7 Helm La Killeuze Fairly clean golden colour with an amber hue. The head is white, creamy, somewhat frothy, bubbly with good retention and leaves good lacing. Aromas are kind of yeasty, wet socks, slightly sour and spicy - so different, but not bad. The taste is where this one shines a little more with the Nelson Sauvin hops adding a nice herbal, grassy touch. The yeast is still here, but blends better and a base of cereal malts for the style completes this one. Not my fave Kellerbier because of this yeasty feel, but all works out to be drinkable in the end. Friday, January 27, 2023
Metalchopz	3.7 HELM Hutchie Frutti Looks like this one was a NEIPA at 6.2% before, but now a NEPA at 5.5% ABV. Got this 750ml bottle at my local convenient store. Hazy, cloudy golden-orange colour with a white frothy head, decent stay and some good foamy-creamy lacing patches. Pineapple, mango and papaya aromas with the oats sweetness, hints of grassiness. This grass edge shows up a little more in the taste with the fruits in the backside. Some good bitterness, dryness ends up in the finish. A pretty good tropical fruity, hoppy New England Pale Ale. Eructoblaster	3.8 HELM Saison de Récolte Canette - 473ml. Belle robe dorée, presque opaque et coiffée d'un énorme col blanc, mousseux et qui s'estompe lentement. Arôme malté/houblonné frais et agrémenté de nuances de grain, de coriandre et d'épinette. En bouche, c'est vif, goûteux à souhait et bien équilibré. Les saveurs houblonnées dominent légèrement et sont appuyées par des notes maltées, céréalières, résineuses et de coriandre. Longue finale sèche et amère. Tuesday, October 12, 2021
