Hintereder Münster Hell
500 ml bottle, brewed by Brauerei Hofmark, Loifling. Almost clear golden with a fluffy head. Straw, sourdough, hazelnut, citrus, corn flakes. Dry mild bitterness, minimal sour, grainy malty sweetness. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry grainy sourdoughy nutty finish. Pretty good Helles.

Bottle picked up from the REWE Getrankemarkt, Veichtach Saturday 4th March 2023, had this sat in Frank at Natur Pur Bayerwald camping, nr Waldkirchen, Bayerisch Wald. Pours clear gold with a white head. Starts with a little sweet maltiness, a little bite, a little cereal. Simple, straightforward but pretty decent, slightly drying at the end.

“Münster Hell“, Flasche direkt vom Brauer in Chammünster, im Anblick des (unbedingt sehenswerten) Ur-Münsters verkostet. - In der Nase milder aber für ein Helles außerordentlich aromatischer Hopfen. - Geschmack kernig hellmalzig mit charakteristischer Gerstennote, fast etwas erdig oder wurzelig. Milde aber sehr aromatische Hopfung mit Kräutern, Eukalyptus und einer Spur Zitronenschale. Äußerst dezente Malzsüße, auch ohne die übliche pappige Weißbrotigkeit. Mild rezent, leicht trocken. Langer kräuteriger Nachtrunk. - Außerordentliches Helles, mit mehr Charakter als so manches Supermarkt-Pilsner.

(bottle) Slightly hazy, golden coloured hue with yeast-floaties and a medium-sized foamy white head. Slightly dusty, moderately sweet grainy malt aroma with notes of hay, honey and a touch of barnyard, accompanied by shy herbal hops. Light-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; medium carbonation. Grainy malty taste, slightly chalky mouthfeel; dry, slightly bitter and a bit citrousy hoppy finish. Unspectacular brew, but also well-balanced and pretty likeable (11.07.07).

(bottle, courtesy of Quack-Duck) Clear, deep golden colour with a short, but persistent foamy white head. Sweet, minimal toasty and buttery malt aroma, also quite bready with a tinge of herbal hops. Sweet flavour, minimal toasted cara-malty and bready taste, medium bodied, smooth on carbon; medium-dry, sweet-bitter, rounded malty and herbal hoppy finish. Pleasant Märzen with some qualities of a Bohemian 14°.

Hintereder Münster Hell
bottle, bought at the brewery. This brewery was founded in 1377. Golden yelow, large and creamy head. Malty nose. Malty flavour, spicy and hoppy in the finish. There is a flavour that reminds me of young, not yet readily fermented wine available in the wine growing regions of Southern Germany in autumn. The carbonation also reminds me of that, very fine and tiny bubbles, which makes the palate rather attractive.
