(hand-filled bottle, via asheft & pivnizub) Cloudy, golden colour with a short and slightly off-white foamy layer. Yeasty and sweet biscuity malty aroma with worty notes. Sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Solid malty base, yeasty and slightly nutty taste: yeasty-bitter and slightly tart finish. Not very harmonic, most probably much better on tap. 15.X.08

[on tap at brewpub--1 year anniversary special] Subdued fresh noble hops aroma with some oxidized candy base malt. Notes of raisins and citrus. Almost clear golden amber with a lasting, lacy, white cover. Smooth and sweet base malt with plenty of noble hops flavour that develops into an interesting, almost Belgian, woody and citrusy, gentle bitterness. Notes of sweet caramel and some dried fruit. Slightly mouth coating and a little warming from the alcohol, medium body, moderate carbonation.

From a huge growler brought in by asheft (thanks!) to the Vinarna Hrozen RBESG tasting.
Poured a murky orange colour with a big thick head that took its time to go away. Lovely strong lime nose, almost Belgian. A great grainy taste, lemony, spicy yeastiness. Flowery, honeyish (pollen even). No way this is a Dortmunder/Helles. It’s a really good beer and a great surprise.

[on tap] Fruity aroma with some detectable hops and a little candy. Hazy to cloudy very dark yellow with a nice, off-white cover that lasts. Very similar in flavour to this brewer’s Helles: Ascertive bitterness in balance with sweet 2-row malt. Fruitiness coming from the fermentation along with a nice touch of caramel and a slightly vegetal hops flavour. Not a Maibock..."Maibier". Medium body, moderate carbonation, almost clean finish.

[on tap at brewpub] Nice caramel-nut aroma behind a curtain of noble hops. Just a touch musty somehow. Hasy/misty amber with a beautiful, lacy white flanel top. Excellent base malt flavour accentuated by caramel/toffee. The flavours that seem to result from fermentation are citrusy like in some British ales. The nutty finish is almost reminiscent of an Altbier. I would like this beer even more if it had a touch more bitterness. Medium body, moderate carbonation, a touch sweet in the finish.

[on tap at brewpub] Quite a bit of hops aroma, although this didn’t seem to come through in the flavour. Plenty of toasty malt in the nose as well, along with a citrusy note (also in the flavour) that seems to come from the fermentation, rather than hops. Nice thick tan foam over a very hazy brown; good lacing. Wort-y flavour like drinking right from a fermentor. Transcendent, very pleasant, toasty malt flavour. German hops flavour a bit subdued--just perceptible. Sweet and nutty. The citrusy finish goes well with a sort of "stabilizing" hops bitterness. Medium to full body with moderate carbonation--sweet yet clean finish.
