3.1 Brandecker Keserű Meggy Tap @ Osterbrau. Nearly clear, purple colour, off-pinky head, moderate real cherry and candy aroma, sweet and sour cherry taste, cherry palate with sweet malty background without hoppy notes. Easy-drinking and well-balanced, but nothing special. Friday, June 6, 2014

3.4 Brandecker Márton Pils On tap. Golden body, long lasting white head. The aroma and taste are both pretty balanced between the grainy malt and the spicy hops. Decent pils. Friday, May 30, 2014

3.2 Brandecker Bier Medium white head. Clear yellow body. Vinegary funky barnyard aroma with lemon notes. Dry-acidic funky barnyard taste with wooden lemony notes. Mid-bodied. Dryish-acidic ashy lemony barnyard aftertaste with grassy notes. Weird, and extremely unusual. Nice, tho’, but probably not meant to be this way at all. (0.3l draft at Skanzenclub, Budapest.) 2.7 Bajor Házi Sör Appearance: Clear golden color with a fine frothy white head. Fine lacing. Aroma: Grainy and mild hoppy. Palate: Medium body. Moderate sweet and a mild bitterness. Soft carbonation. Taste: Mild grainy and light hoppy. Overall impression: Plain pale lager. I am not sure about this rating. It was listed as their own brew at Gerbeaud in Budapest. But at ratebeer is says: out of business. And this was the only one I could find with the same name. Personal stats: On tap at Gerbeaud in Budapest , Hungary Saturday, July 6, 2013

3.9 Brandecker Barna Bodzás Paszt?rözetlen literes kiszerelésben vette öcsém a szülinapi bográcsolás mellé, meglep?en kellemes barna sör, a pörkölt malátás és keser? komlós ízt feloldja a nagyon enyhe bodza aroma. Nagyon természetesnek hat, nem radler jelleg?. Igen er?s ahhoz képest, hogy ízesített, 4%. Inkább csapolt jellege van, de kevesebb szénsavval. Tuesday, July 17, 2012

2.1 Brandecker Barna Bodzás Draught at Főzdefeszt III, Budapest. Muddy dark brown coloured, small off-white head, fruits and elder in the nose. The taste is pretty watery with notes of overripe fruits and elder. Also some acidic lemony notes in the finish. Let’s say quite incomplete beer. Friday, June 8, 2012

2.6 Brandecker Bier On tap at Wichmann kocsmája, Budapest. Clear golden color with white frothy head. Classic draft lager. Characterless malty aroma, but interesting sour malty taste. Medium body with lively carbonation and slick texture. Sour malty finish. Interesting beer because of the sourness. I heared, that it’s a home-made beer, so in that case, it’s quite good. Still better the classic Hungarian industrial lagers. Friday, January 13, 2012

2.9 Brandecker Barna Bodzás Főzdefeszt, Budapest. Sötétbarna szín, kevés gyorsan elmúló világosbarna habbal. A pörkölt maláta aromájához meglepően jól illeszkedik a bodza édeskés íze.

A szupermarketes gyümölcsös sörlöttyök többségénél azért egyértelműen jobb. Saturday, October 29, 2011

2012.03.05. Frissen kóstolva jobban ízlett, kellemes szomjoltó, enyhén gyümölcsös, áfonyás ízzel. Wednesday, October 12, 2011

3 Brandecker Bier Plastic bottle(1000ml). Bought in Budapest on a street festival. No distinct aroma, very pale, no foam. First impression - watery taste. Second impresion - quite refreshing and pleasantly bitter. As I’m in favor of bitter beers I enjoyed this one in the end, even though it’s nothing special. Tuesday, October 11, 2011

3.1 Brandecker Világos Bodzás Strong elder aroma and odour. Mostly the same as the brow elder flavoured one, but less malty. Natural sweetness, refreshing. Sunday, October 9, 2011

3.1 Brandecker Világos Narancs Light orange colour with amberish head. Very strong orange aroma (they’ve put a slice of orange in it too at the Főzdefeszt maybe that’s why the fragrance was so strong). The taste is very refreshing, natural orange taste with a slight bitterness and malty notes. Could be more enjoyable on a hot summer day. Sunday, October 9, 2011

3.4 Brandecker Barna Bodzás Very lively and intensive elderflower aroma along with roasted malt. These components are also dominant in the taste, giving a medium-sweet, spicy beer. I often like elderberry-flower juice as a soft drink so adding this aroma to a beer was a good idea in my opinion. Good brew. Sunday, October 9, 2011

2.7 Brandecker Világos Narancs Draught at the F-fest. Courtesy of lord_totenkopf I think, shared with him and mattphilips, thanks! Golden body, fresh orange juice in the nose. Same in the generall malty taste. Ok. Friday, October 7, 2011

4 Brandecker Barna Bodzás On tap at Főzdefeszt festival, Budapest. Nice brown beer with elder-berry. The elder and the roasted malt dominates in the nose. In your mouth first you find some coffe and caramel, the elder arrives a little bit later, and turns the beer more sweet. Very good brown fruit beer. Friday, October 7, 2011

3.2 Brandecker Világos Bodzás F-Fest Budapest, these were courtesy of lord_totenkopf, shared with him and mattphilips (thanks!). Nose is pure elder juice. Golden body, thick white head. Elder owns the taste too. I can dig it, just not too complex, and again if you don’t like elder, stay away. Friday, October 7, 2011

3.2 Brandecker Barna Bodzás Draught at the Főzdefeszt. Murky very dark brown-black body with a small off white head. Full elder nose, which is cool for me as I love elder. The taste, however, puts you slightly back to earth, as the elder syrup passes an used coffee filter. It does even up in the end and get pleasant though, but if you don’t like elder, avoid this. 2.3 Brandecker Bier Appearence: very massive head and pale yellow colour. Aroma is standard lager with bread-like malt notes and hoppy bitterness. The taste leaves a bit unusual aftertaste and after a few pints it could be quite disturbing. Worth a try as a rare home-brewed lager, but don’t have high expectations. Sunday, March 20, 2011

2.6 Brandecker Bier Óbester Borozó, Budapest. Süldőmalac koromban gyakran ittam, aztán persze sok mást kipróbáltam, szóval gyorsan letettem. Most nemrég, úgy 4 év óta először tettem vele még egy próbát. Pozitív csalódás volt. Egész komoly, édeskés malátás illat, halvány aranysárga szín, kissé zavaros, a tetején egész magas habkorona, ami sokáig kitart. 3 Bajor Házi Sör I*ve sampled the beer in a raunchy bar called Ági Presszó in the underpass of the tube station at Népliget. The waitress said the beer*s origin. The bar was morbid and horrible, but i was surprised by this beer...So the beer has a nice golden body and a stable, white, lacing head. It has a malty aroma with some sourish yeast and a floral hop perfume. Pale malt and bottom yeast in the flavor, characteristic hop in the finish. Hoppy aftertaste. Nice, especially by the other stuff of the brewery(the bottled Brandecker). Monday, January 19, 2009

2.1 Brandecker Bier Plastic bottle(1000ml). -From small shop in village named Torokbalint near Budapest. For past two years I’ve been passing by it and always something happens and I don’t get in it. This time I’ve decided to enter and had something to see... over 25 beers in 4 large fridges (only 2 new for me). Who would expect it, especially because shop looks as if it could collapse any second. Golden coloured, medium sized white head, dusty yeasty nose. The taste is odd, slight hoppy and vegetables with strange notes of beet. Harsh bitter finish and aftertaste. Wednesday, April 30, 2008

2.2 Brandecker Bier 1l plastic bottle courtesy of and shared with ogivlado (thanks!) Yet another faux German Hungarian beer. Unlike the others, usually supermarket crap brewed by Pecsi or Borsodi, this one is brewed by a micro from a village just outside the eastern limits of Budapest. Cute. It also carries a monk on its label, probably to indicate that it might not be as crap as the plastic bottle would indicate. Not pasteurized, which is a plus. The strength is apparently from 3.5% to 4.5%, which is amusing. It poured a darker orange-golden colour with a medium sized thick white head that went away slowly. Nice enough. The nose isn’t all that bad. Typical micro yeastiness found in this part of Europe mixing with some dusty hopiness. All in all, passable. The taste, however, isn’t as nice. Dominated by a very odd flavour, a mix of beets, carrots and ash, reminding me of a Slovenian beer I had last summer. Skok I think. Interesting but overbearing and just not nice. Some light hopiness surrounds it and that’s pretty much it. Not as offensive as the sum of its parts, but I wouldn’t buy it again. I hope the other Hungarian micros are better. 3.2 Brandecker Bier I found that beer in a local "pub" in the underpass at Nyugati Railway station.Strong nose, tons of malt.Pure golden color, minimal head what dissapears quickly. The flavour is malty and very sweet. light carbonation. Minimal bitterness and aftertaste. Was that beer normally fermented before any filtration?(2007.12.13.: 4, 2, 3, 2, 9) I have tasted it again. So i*ve bought a bottle at the brewery, and it was better. It has a nice golden beer with a white foamy head. Floral hop, some yeast, fine malt in the nose. The flavor is similar as the aroma, sourish yeast, fine sweet malt, hop in the finish. Not a big character, but it was fine! Thursday, December 13, 2007
