Hazy reddish copper colour with a large foamy off-white head, nose is malty, citric, herbal and roasty with notes of grapefruit, orange, bread crust, dark caramel and Italian aperitivo, taste is slightly sweet, citric and roasty with a quite dry finish, a full body and a juicy mouthfeel. tontalus	4.4 Urban Monk Rusty Red Das Urban Monk Rusty Red habe ich in der Barfüßer Hausbrauerei in Reutlingen in der Longneck Flasche gekauft. Es kommt eher bernstein- als kupferfarben und trüb ins Glas mit einer super Krone. Der Geruch von Brotrinde mit kräuterigem Hopfen lässt automatisch das Bild von Rost erscheinen, obwohl Rost doch eigentlich nicht riecht? Beim Antrunk schon amtliche Bitterkeit, die den Körper überdeckt. Die Kräuter spielen flüssigen Rost vor - beim Abgang gebt das aber in Zitrusaromen über. Auch wenn die Farbe nicht ideal ist, die Geschmacksnote passt super zum Thema des Biers - alle Achtung! Thursday, October 26, 2023
tontalus	3.9 Urban Monk Sun Shine Ale Das Urban Monk Sun Shine Ale habe ich in der Barfüßer Hausbrauerei in Reutlingen in der Longneck Flasche gekauft. Ganz golden ist das Golden Ale nicht im Glas - es hat einen Kupferstich im opalen Gelb. Darüber eine üppige, feinporige und stabile Krone - perfekt. Der Geruch nach Grapefruit, Mango und Beeren ist fruchtig lecker. Beim Antrunk sehr bitter, deshalb hätte ich eher den Bierstil auf Pale Ale eingeschätzt - bei 6% Alkohol fast IPA! Die Rezenz ist damit auch im mittleren Bereich, wie bei einem schwergewichtigen IPA. Beim Abgang noch bitterer und zitrusfruchtiger. Für mich zu viel des Guten, wobei die Aromenvielfalt und der Geschmack im oberen Bereich sind. Thursday, October 26, 2023
tontalus	4.5 Urban Monk IPA Ich habe das RBN MNK IPA von Urban Monk bei im Barfüßer Restaurant in Reutlingen in der Longneck Flasche gekauft. Der Geruch ist dominiert von Melone, dann kommen Kräuter und dann Früchte. Beim Antrunk überdurchschnittlich rezent und trocken. Wir haben Kräuter, Gras, Erde und Melone - was abwechslungsreich und klassisch ist aber auch neue Eindrücke bietet. Das Bier ist IPA konform bitter wozu auch die 7% Alkohol beitragen. Beim Abgang noch bitterer - der Alkohol bringt sich auch mit ein - die Kräuter machen den Zitrusaromen etwas Platz. Ich bin froh, mal wieder ein klassisches IPA zu bekommen und nicht so ein überzüchtetes, hazy Frucht IPA. Gut gemacht, Mönch! Tuesday, October 24, 2023
tontalus	3.3 Urban Monk Shiny Wilma Das Shiny Wilma von Urban Monk habe ich im Barfüßer Restaurant Reutlingen in der Longneck Flasche mitgenommen. Es ist seit 4 Monaten im MHD abgelaufen - schämt euch! Im Glas üppige, mittelporige Krone mit mittlerer Stabilität und strohgelb opaler Flüssigkeit. Der Geruch nach Kräutern und Zitrusfrüchten belegt, dass der Schriftzug "Helles" auf dem Etikett aus Sicht eines Craft Beer Brauers angebracht wurde. Beim Antrunk trocken, rezent aber etwas muffig - vermutlich, weil die Charge alt ist. Beim Abgang zurückhaltende Zitrusfrüchte mit ordentlicher Bitterkeit für ein Pale Lager. Ich hätte es gerne besser bewertet, da eine frische Wilma wohl leckerer ist. Tuesday, October 24, 2023
