At Papsoe’s pre CPH Beer Fest tasting, cheers Henrik! Cloudy amber beer. Crisp palate but quickly turns soft and frothy. Slightly tart malt. Soft orange citrus undertone. Nicely joined up.

At Papsoe’s pre CPH Beer Fest tasting, cheers Henrik! Lively gushing beer - probably infected. Cloudy brown with a thick biscuit coloured bubbly head. Crisp palate. Sweet toffeeish malt with a little spice. Not bad at all and could not taste any infection.

Bomber bottle from Cletus. Explosive carbonation when opened: spray and overflow. Big aroma that’s mostly the golden malt and maybe some of the East Kent hops. Plus a sharp metal note every now and then. Massive foamy, off-white head and blankets of lacing. Pretty accurate for a Scottish ale but maybe a little light. Better than expected honestly.

Bottle, 22oz, shared by Papsoe. A gusher, pouring a hazy, orange-brown body under a big, beige head. Slightly sourish nose, fruity ans spiced, with caramel and hops. Fruity and spiced flavor too, with a good sweetness and some bitterness. Sweet, bitter finish. Very effervescent, medium body. Even though it was slightly off, it was a quite good beer. Quenching, even though it was on the sweet side. (090514)

Courtesy of sebletitje. Pours an explosive tall rocky tan head and murky brown body. The aroma is a bit tart with out of control yeast in this bottle conditioned brew as well as malts mingling in the background. The taste is sweet with mildly roasted malts, maltiness and fruity esters. It ends with a bit of caramel and mild sharp tartness.

Aroma had hints of honey, floral hops, and possibly some berries. Taste, floral malts, light honey sweetness, caramel with light nutty flavors, and grains. Definitely had some funky bad aroma.

Another Carlson beer shared by durhambeer - thanks, Bob. Hat-trick! Copper pour with a big-ass head, "when bottle-conditioning goes wrong." Fruity nose with a fairly odd apricot aroma to me. Very lively mouthfeel, doesn’t really want to settle down too much. Slight spice and smoke in the flavor but mostly just burnt sugars. Not so hot.

Bottle thanks to Cletus. Finally got around to trying this beer. Deep copper, almost brown pour with a huge off-white head. Overcarbonated, for sure, which led to a prickly palate. Some odd fruit (canned peaches?) coming through and some caramel, perhaps a small bit of wood and chocolate. Bit of metal. Not great.

Thanks durhambeer for sharing. Pours a light translucent copper with a fuckin massive head. Definitely ended up being overcarbonated. Not much of anything happening on the nose, some corn, mild sweetness, caramelly malt. Flavor is hard to pick apart b/c you don’t really taste anything since the beer explodes when it hits your mouth. Some sweetness comes through, thats about it. Palate is as you guessed it, super carbonated. Leave this one open overnight maybe?

Thanks to Bob for this one! Thx! Muddy brown pour with an extremely large tan head. I have to admit I was worried about infection once I saw the carbonation levels. Burnt caramel aroma. Metallic, herbal notes, and more burnt caramel.

Botte via cletus. Pours a nice copper with a overactive off white head. Aroma is spices, bread, yeast, hops. Flavor is yeast, hops, spices, malt. A lot going on here, and really has a nice flavor profile for such a low alcohol beer. Sorry to see this brewery go as all of their stuff is well crafted.
