The Wild IPA is a hop-forward, bitter, dryish beer where some fruity acidic or funky character, introduced by wild yeast or bacteria (generally Brettanomyces, but also others such as Lactobacillus or Pediococcus), is evident but in balance with other components of the IPA. The balance is hop-forward, dryish finish, and clean, supporting malt allowing a creative range of hop character to shine through with the funky and sometime acidic character always present.
