Sat in a sunny cafe in Westvleteren watching the heat haze over the grain fields, I made a comment to my two mates that we were pretty dedicated beer fans. One of my mates said "We’ve travelled 13,000 miles, rented a car, and ended up in the middle of the Belgian countryside to drink this beer. We’re no longer beer fans - we’re beer connoisseurs." I thought that was fair.
