Originally brewed at Maclays brewery in Alloa. Subsequently contract brewed at Forth (now known as Williams Brothers) and, later, at Belhaven following Maclay’s exit from brewing. Recently revived at Clockwork.
First patented during the reign of Queen Victoria. The original stout recipe continues to be used to this day. The use of MALTED OATS, unique to Maclay, gives Maclay Stout a fuller, rounder flavour. The result is a deliciously rich beer, without any bitter after taste.
