Description:
Saisons (pronounced say-zones&) are refreshingly crisp beers traditionally brewed in the French-speaking, Southern part of Belgium known as Wallonia. Known as farmhouse ales thanks to their house-brewed production, they were originally brewed in late winter for summertime consumption, though they are now year-round standards at the family table.
Saison du CBC is an unfiltered, bright yellow-orange color from the malt grist of Belgian pilsner, aromatic, and wheat malts. Although highly hopped by Belgian standards, the German Hallertauer and Tettnanger hops in this beer make a milder contribution than standard American-grown hops. Tart fruity, spicy notes in the flavor and aroma come from the use of our proprietary Belgian yeast and a subtle combination of spices, also traditional in Belgian brewing. Those astute of palate may notice flavors of orange blossom, coriander, cumin, black pepper, and star anise, as well as an herbal hop note or two, blending beautifully with the lightly toasty, sweet malt character.
Served in a traditional tulip glass to emphasize the glowing effervescence and special nature of this delightful beer.
