82 Visited many times before and last time 7th August 2023 - surprised I have never rated this as I have been here so often over the years. Great location close to Charing cross/Covent Garden, well presented small fronted place which is fine to drink out on the pavement, and indoors despite the size there is seating around the ground floor and plenty upstairs (just mind yourself on the stairs) Even though Fullers took it over some time back love that they have just kept it the same. Ok there is a few Fullers beers but there is still always a Kernel on tap, and without fail I seem to always score two or three new beers/brewery ticks mostly on cask (which is always in good condition on my visits) - always a must visit when in the area for me. Highly recommended. |
80 Quite possible the best cask ale pub in central London. A free house with cask ales from different parts of the UK. There is always something interesting, well-kept beers on casks, or on the taps, as well. Rather small and narrow main room on the street level, but more seating upstairs. Friendly and knowledgeable service. Our fist visit to The Harp was in 2006, and the pub was, of course, included in our anniversary trip in autumn 2023 revisiting our best London pubs from 2003-2006. (Visited with Finn, 29.09.2023). |
70 Great ambience - a beer drinkers pub. Three cask ales, about ten other interesting beers on tap. Comfortable vibe. Not as busy as many other pubs in area. Friendly quick service. |
76 Pretty decent place showing a fine selection of cask ales and good things on keg as well. Despite the location not too loud or crowded even on a Friday night. No food served, but quick and friendly service on the beers. |
84 Old school trad pub close to Trafalgar Square. Quite small inside, there is an upstairs too, reached by a narrow winding staircase. Always something worth trying, with Harvey's Best and Kernel to fall back on, which is no bad thing |
70 One of a handful of traditional urban public houses that have resisted the lure to modernise for this tourist heavy part of the west end. It's a real ale pub with a long row of cask ales, ever changing as the 100's of pump clips stick on the walls above the bar would suggest. Keg ale is available here and there's one or two interesting lines - not the usual regulars you see in most other places around here. Long and thin, you can exit the pub into the very narrow alley behind, the walls are dotted with paintings. |
80 Visited 22.10.18. Traditional pub near Charing Cross. 10 ales on cask and more on keg, including one from Kernel. A nice upstairs lounge with comfy leather chairs. Well worth a visit. |
90 Acogedor pub, tradicional, buen sitio para disfrutar de buena cerveza en londres, parte del local estaba cerrado, segunda visita en noviembre, bastante mas concurrido que en mi anterior visita, Para repetir!! |
82 Traditional old pub in a central location. Cool decor inside. Visited at noon, so it was not very crowded. Nice selection and good condition of keg and cask beers. Nice atmosphere, pleasant service. Quite small and cozy, but has its charm. |
82 Nice small pub, centrally located with many local taps. Good atmosphere of a traditional style, prices weren't too bad for the location. |
