If you have been to a Rock Bottom before, then you should know what to expect. While each location does vary in beer quality, same typical boring flagship beers with several in house only beers which were okay. This location is not in my top 3 of RB locations. |

66 Dropped in here when I was in town on business. Rock Bottoms seem like they are pretty much the same no matter where you go, so nothing here surprised me. They had 8 or 9 drafts, and their "fresh sheet" didn’t have deScriptions of all of them. If you’re going to put out deScriptions of most of your beers, do it for all of them. Don’t be lazy with "seasonal American wheat" or "rotating dark" or things like that. Food was good, service was pretty decent. Beer was middle of the road - well enough made, but nothing that would really knock your socks off. Good place to rack up a few ticks. |
54 Saturday night at 8 is not the best time to sit at the bar. Eight beers. Busy and loud. The beer list answered all my questions. Bartender could use modesty in her attire. I’ve been here a lot when it’s busy and when it’s not. If you plan on eating there avoid busy times, unless you plan on being there for ever and having everything out of your server’s mouth be, "I’m sorry for/but/about..." I think the place is understaffed, mismanaged and/or the staff is under-trained. |
72 Went on a Thursday night (after giving up on two separate crowded weekend nights), so it was a light crowd. Only Rock Bottom Beers available, but several are quite good. Food is typical of national chains, but well prepared. Our server was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the beer. Overall, good. |
72 Standard corporate restaurant style brew pub. Their beers are solid examples of the respective styles, they only had 8 taps. Food is good with fancy salads, sandwiches and appetizers. Sort of pricey. What you would expect from Rock Bottom. |
72 The beers are alright, but the food is great, the staff is solid, and it’s one of the best values to pre game in downtown Cincinnati! Or just to go out for a beer and some braised short ribs for that matter... |
82 This place is just like with any other brewpub chain, just with slightly better beer and food. Though it can get busy in the evening. |
70 The beers were good all 4 of them. They were out of 2. I expected more. The was good, my burger could have used some seasoning while cooking. |
78 A fun brewpub (one of the few) in downtown Cincinnati in Fountain Square. A decent sized place with a long bar and plenty of tables, though it fills up pretty quickly. Tap list features 5 regulars (kolsch, witbier, red, ipa, and a "dark" that rotates) plus at least a couple seasonals (pumpkin ale, winter wheat, brandy barrel aged triple) and a couple of cask options. So really, there is plenty of beer options (I came here on 2 separate occasions and still did not sample everything). Food menu is pretty good (I’ve had the hazelnut crusted chicken, which is pure awesomeness, and the crab and artichoke dip which is pretty good). All in all, had a fun time and the beer was good. Please don’t pass over this one just because it’s a chain-the beer is well made and they put out some interesting seasonals. |
