26 I really didn’t like this place. It was a warehouse that was freakishly loud and hot. There was VERY little seating and only five beers on tap with no food. I was miserable the entire time I was in this place. The beer was quite good, actually, but I hated the entire experience. |
66 Small place, basically a bar in a warehouse brewery. Live music while we were there. No air conditioning, si it was unbearably stifling hot in the pub portion. Friendly service. So-so beers. |
74 Some of the better beers in Asheville with some of the best values I’ve ever seen. Barreled and specialty beers at regular beer prices; and they were GOOD! I just wish they had food and a better selection (especially of growlers!). |
72 Basically a small tasting room adjacent to the brewery. Six or so beers on tap and available for a flight. Small tables to sit down at, only really could seat around 20 people or so. Cool little place, worth stopping by to sample what they got if you’re in town. |
84 October 2011. "Nestled" away in an odd old warehouse just outside downtown, Craggie was the first place we REALLY liked in Asheville. With gregarious hippies manning the place, it’s instantly inviting. And wow -- the beers are really innovative and different. The Mango IPA, for example, is really good and different. This is the only brewery in Asheville we went back to twice ... Good stuff. (#552) |
82 A small tasting room near all the other good beer stuff in Asheville. The staff was friendly and eager to talk beer which is always a plus. The brews were good and I spend way more time here than I expected. A must drop by and visit. |
60 Small tap room, cheap samplers. As others have indicated, the beer is average at best. Hope they can turn it around in the future. |
56 I’d actually like to go back because the other ratings seem decent enough that I must have gone a bad day when the beer pouring was off. The ambiance is a bit low - open industrial brewery space with a small sitting area up front (cool tables and benches - but not particularly comfy). Beer list seemed impressive, but nothing was very good. Some of the beers were terrible - spice bombs or tainted lines or something. I wonder if perhaps some of their glasses were improperly washed/rinsed and maybe the beer tasted so bad because of soap left on the glass... Unfortunate experience - but I’m willing to try again to see if my bad experience was a fluke. |
62 Clean tap room, good staff, decent beer. |
86 Small Brewery with a small tasting room adjacent to the Brewery. They had 6-8 drought beers available. They have a variety of pour sizes available. All beers very reasonably priced. They have a unique selection of beers. The antebellum ale was a light and refreshing ale with hints of ginger. They also had a remarkably balanced chipolte porter. The tasting room is low-key and simple. Worth a stop if you are headed to beer city! |
