Hops & Barley

Really old school two room tiled bar look, looks amazing, low grime. Okay prices, lower number of taps split between classic new school & German. Beer is not amazing but solid enough and place has charm for sure. They do all kinds of nasty stuff like snakebite with liquor which my partner tried, turned out to be still drinkable but really not my thing.

Small grubby pub in Friedrichshain. A few tables in front inside though it looked like there was a larger interior room (unoccupied during an early Saturday afternoon visit). There are outdoor tables as well. Fairly decent tap list - a few German standards (dunkles, pils, weizen) and some American styles (pale ale, IPA). Beers were good, nothing crazy but solid. No food. Not the best ambiance but beer was good.

Modern looking brewpub. Selection limited to their own beers, but ipa and lager on tap, so why not?! Wish there was more room outside tho. Prices are ok. Ok place.

A couple blocks from Schalander, this is another fairly traditional German beer place. 0.3 and 0.5L pours available for pretty cheap (€2.90 and €3.80 for the basic beers). Nothing exciting here, just decently done Reinheitsgebot beers. Decent service. Forgettable but alright beers.

Brewpub in a classic location with tiles on the wall and a lightly cramped layout. I sat at the bar, Super efficient and nice people serving. Together with the all-round no-nonsene good beers this makes it a allround good beer destination. The perfect place to go if you need to get off the hype-train for a while.

Schöne kleine Micro Brewery. Direkt an der M13 Haltestelle. 8 Taps, davon 1 Cider. Lohnt sich.
