Patricks Pub og Restaurant

Another update for April 2023. Various changes around beer profile at Kristiansand’s pubs. Patricks is without doubt back as the number one pub in town. Some interesting local meads, not seen many other places is also available for the time being.
Time to adjust my 2011 rating. Not the best beer pub in town, but still somewhere around top 3. After last makeover this is more in the direction of a shopping mall beer café than a real beer pub, but still not a bad beer pub at all. Untappd friendly tap list with about 15 taps, but about half of them is rather standard stuff with close to no rotating. Among the rest it’s mostly easy drinking APA, IPA etc. but any now and then there might be something more interesting. IMO the bottle list is the most interesting part, quite often there might be something extra interesting in the fridge that never made their way to the written menu, so it might be a god advice to ask somebody among the staff what’s interesting. And by somebody it means somebody that seems to have an extra interest in beer, as the staff varies a lot but most of them at least try to do some extra effort. Food is OK from some pub snacks to burgers and some more regular café menu stuff. I tend to enjoy this place most during early day when not so much people hanging around here, and that might be the biggest advance behind this place. There is no other place you might start with a craft beer as early as 11 AM.

Visited 19.11.18 while waiting for the train. A brown pub in Kristiansand city centre with a combination of industrial and craft beer on tap. Very expensive beer prices, even to Norwegian standards. Good service, though.

A place with long traditions in my adopted city. Been there as long as I have :-). Feels like an Irish pub but you have the option to sit near the windows a feel like there is a world outside as well. Excellent selection of beer, the food is very good but the selection is minimal. As everywhere in Norway, value for money is medium. Enjoyable place, we usually celebrate St.Patrick here and it’s been good every time.

Dette er en utrolig flott plass, trives godt og god atmosfære. Opplever stadig at de er utsolgt eller har sluttet med diverse øl på menyen, dette er litt kjedelig når dette gjentatte ganger skjer. Men absolutt en av mine favorittplasser i Kristiansand. Kommer alltid tilbake.

The classic beer place in Kristiansand. Visited twice in my stay in the region this summer. Very good food, the burgers are really nice. Very nice tap list and beer menu. Not too many excotic things but they have a good range. Service was excellent. The waiter even sat down for a beer chat. A must visit in Kristiansand

Koselig sted med bra utvalg av øl både på flaske og tapp. God service. Blir nok flere turer.

Tradisjonsrik irsk pub med godt utvalg både på tapp og flaske. Kunnskapsrik og hyggelig betjening. Fint uteområde rett på Markens.

Hyggelige "brune" lokaler, et knakende godt ølutvalg, kick ass burgere og sist men ikke minst: En servitør som ikke bare utøvde en utrolig god service, men også gav oss avslag på regningen siden vi ikke kunne få det vi bestilte. Og det aller beste... En god samtale om øl

Good selection of beer on tap and good food. Very good service, the staff was always trying to help. Good ambiance.

Visited this place friday 12.07.13 A nice place in the start of the city street. I requested a beer list but they didnt have any at the moment becouse they where updating it. Still a good selection of beers but not top for me. The staff was helpful and said they were good at matching beers to their food. But i have to question his recomandation to my BBQ pork burger, that was a Konrads stout from Lervig. A beer i thinck goes best to desserts or most of all alone. I had Hopfix from BeerHere insted. + For sandbox next to the outdoor serving, my kid loved it when we waited for our food. Will go back and i suspect that i will upgrade my rating.
