62 Visited on a Saturday near dusk and it was pretty slow. Outdoor venue during the summer months. Cool vibe. Pints served in plastic cups. Beers are not great but they're drinkable. The usual suspects and some limited beers. Two limited when I was there but I think they have up to 4. They have an indoor tasting room for the colder months... looks like a dark supper club. Prices OK. Awesome feature of the town is the free shuttle that goes between the beer stops and the bars on evenings, and which stops right in front of this place. Not worth going out of your way to come here, but a good place to kill a few hours. |

62 Stark contrast to New Glarus Brewing we visited earlier. The interior design is outdated with an Applebee’s like touch. Outdoor garden area is extensive, but much too cold for use during our visit. The brewing facility itself, after going on the tour, was not very clean. It was pretty filthy in places, flies buzzing around. Beer flavors were in the mid-tier range with not too many off flavors present besides diacetyl. So if you like margarine flavors in your beer, this is the place. |
52 Large place, only the outside beer garden was available on a Sunday. The means no food other than pre-packaged popcorn and chips or crisps, depending on your country of origin. The outdoor space is nice - a long bar and Oktoberfest style picnic table, some covered and some sunny. Plenty of parking. Beers were buttery, but they did offer flights of six. Only go if you need ticks. |
92 Went here in September to watch the Badger game. Never really got to check out the inside; it was outdoor service only. That aside, the beer was great, the service was excellent, and I left there quite happy. |
86 Bier garden in the spring, summer, and fall is amazing! Just a great atmosphere and a great place to have a beer. Pretty decent selection of draft beer available. |
76 Stopped in while Capital Brewing was hosting an event. Quite a crowd, but everything was running smoothly. No food available except for sliders being cooked on a grill. Selection was decent, prices were decent, and service was good. Everyone was having a good time. The beer garden was a great place to have a beer. Worth a visit while in Madison. |
72 We spent a July 4th evening here in the beer garden and really enjoyed it. Nice, comfortable, Germany-like setting with communal tables, above average-to-very good beer, and a couple good options for food off the grill. Even a semi-passable band that played some really bad covers, and friendly parents chasing their kids around. An All-American setting. What else could you want? (Brewery #611) |
100 LOVE IT!( i work there so im HEAVILY biased) |
66 You should of course go on the tour if you live in town, but don’t expect to be wowed. They don’t even have their own bottling line! You get a sample of all the current beers at the end of the tour, which will make it clear to you how similar they all taste. After the tour go over to the mustard museum and top off the evening at the Hubbard Ave diner and you never have to come back to Middleton again.
