70 /100 33 WEST ST Visited this place July 1, 2018, according to the receipt. Old restored building with an old-style pub with multiple levels. We sat at the bar, and I had a flight, but don't remember the beers specifically. Service was good and staff was friendly. The food was decent, standard pub fare and prices were decent. |
86 /100 418 FOURTH STREET Great unique beers, tasty small bites, small inside with some outside seating but perfect ambiance, and awesome friendly staff. Go there! |
78 /100 418 FOURTH STREET Place just across the bridge from the historic downtown, still pretty close. By some yacht clubs and such. Lots of outdoor seating here. They don't do flights but half pints, half pours. Beer lineup was pretty good with lots of styles represented, and they do a pretty good job of most of them. Definitely a pleasant place to enjoy some good beer. Had the tinga tacos which were pretty good as well. Probably the best beer place in Annopolis, though there are only like one or two others. |
68 /100 418 FOURTH STREET Popped in after a morning at the beach. This is off the main drag in Annapolis, which was nice. They had repurposed some outdoor areas to accommodate COVID seating. Inside was bright and airy, upscale pub space. 7 of their beers on tap, a few in cans to go and all offered in crowlers/growlers. Wide range of beers offered. The food was good, a touch pricey but quality. Staff were hustling. We will definitely drop in here again. |
58 /100 33 WEST ST Bad service. Meh food. Lots of choices, but all of the beers I had in the flight were sub-par. Went here a lot in college and despite my less than discriminating tastes at the time I remember it mostly good for the convenience. Find someplace else. |
58 /100 The Greene Turtle - Annapolis (Restaurant) 177 JENNIFER RD Regional chain sports bar. Mostly macros on tap, a few locals. A. Bit classier than your normal sports bar, wood and brass. Stopped hoping for some Heavy Seas, but they only offer Loose Cannon. |
64 /100 Mills Fine Wine & Spirits (Beer Store) 87 MAIN ST Old notes. Visited family in DE and ended up meeting up with friends in MD, brought me here and had to check little place down by the harbor. Mix-a-six packs at a discount. Good prices. Pretty good selection. Would go back here if I lived closer. |
56 /100 Bin 201 (Beer Store) 201 HARKER PL Wine specialty store with limited beer selection. Focus on local and regional brews, but singles sales are extremely limited (Maryland has antiquated liquor laws that vary by county). Belgian and German selections are of highest quality, prices reasonable |
82 /100 33 WEST ST With a reservation we had lunch here on the day of the Navy v Pitt game on 12/28/2015. We have visited at other times but had never rated the location. The food is excellent. The beers are above average. There were many Pitt fans having lunch. The word must be out in Pittsburgh. When in Annapolis this is great place to stop. Navy won the game. |
72 /100 33 WEST ST Dinner at the Rams Head on the way to DC. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but I eventually found street parking a few blocks away. Place was not too busy, but its so labrynth-like inside that I was never sure how many people were actually there. There is a bar room, a side room with tables, a back room, a basement "pub" an outdoor area, and likely more. They were setting up for live music when I was there; I would not say they had a "stage" per se (although who knows what lurks in the recesses of this place, more of a spot on the floor where the band sets up. Not super impressed with the service, but once I got someones attention it was ok. Their sampler flight is super cheap, with like 3 oz pours of each of their beers. Beers are kind of so-so food was pretty decent. Overall a good place to hang out. |
72 /100 33 WEST ST Nice pub...a lot of craft beer history (I’ve been coming here since the early ’90’s)...with a stage and live music shows next door. I visited most recently in a unique way for me...came by boat to Annapolis for the first time. So we walked the town and I took my friends here to experience a place I’ve known for a long time. It was a lazy late summer Saturday afternoon...pretty hot...when we arrive the place was mostly empty. We did flights and appy’s and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves...not saying the Ram’s Head is always great...but it was more than enough for us that day. |
70 /100 33 WEST ST Good local pub, with lots of Fordham and Dominion stuff on tap. Not a lot that don’t turn up sometimes in D.C., but decent if you are in the area. They serve taster flights, and prices are good. |
78 /100 Mills Fine Wine & Spirits (Beer Store) 87 MAIN ST Really nice selection and great make your own sixer options. Enjoyed this place very much. Will definitely come back when I’m in the area. Lots of local and internatonal beers. |
38 /100 Castlebay Irish Pub (Restaurant) 193 MAIN ST, STE A Standard Irish pub in Annapolis. Had their Thomas Jefferson beer the rest pretty mainstream. Not really a ratebeer destination. |
56 /100 33 WEST ST Sort of cozy pub with different rooms and floors, fruiendly but not so quick service and a nice patio we didn’t spend time on due to the heat. The food we had was nice, typical pubgrub, but the beers are rather uninteresting, or in two cases, close to bad. If only the beers were better I’d recommend stopping by.. |
50 /100 Bin 201 (Beer Store) 201 HARKER PL A really small wine shop with a very small beer selection just outside the front door of Whole Foods Annapolis. Stop here if you are in a pinch for craft beer and cannot stop anywhere else and you are fine with a selection of less than two dozen beers. |
72 /100 Wine Cellars of Annapolis (Beer Store) 1410 FOREST DR I stopped in here on the way to my boss’ Solstice party and was quickly greeted by the eager "Beer Buyer" who escorted me to the beer section. I follow him through the main store, through a dark area full of wine cases and into a cafe with a beer cooler. Here, there are mostly micros with a few crap macros to help pay the bills. The selection is somewhat small, particularly for the region, but it is definitely well thought out. Their use of cooler shelf space is for better beers, and it appears the selection turns over fairly quickly. |
74 /100 Federal House Bar & Grille (Restaurant) 22 MARKET SPACE The ambiance in this place is very nice, almost like a really large brown bar. They have a nice selection of bottled beers and taps, though they don’t emphasize local beer. Also, good crab cakes. |
58 /100 33 WEST ST Decent beer, decent food, nothing great. Has a nice historic colonial feel that fits with the city. |
74 /100 Bay Ridge Wine & Spirits (Beer Store) 111 HILLSMERE DR Stopped in here while in MD for the holidays. Unassuming storefront in an older shopping center. Lots of liquor and wine up front with the craft selection in the back. Decent selection of things that you would expect in the area like Dominion, Flying Dog, Stillwater, Evolution, Weyerbacher, and the other distributed goodies. A wall of bombers with Bruery, FW, Perennial, Maine Beer. Was able to grab my first bottle of Brew Dog and two 2013 Eclipse versions: Makers Mark and Evan Williams. Grabbed a Maine Beer Mo with a July date on it but figured what the hell. This seems to be normal for Maine Beer around these parts right now: generally out of date. Prices were on par and I did not see anything outrageous. Great growlers available including BCS, BCBW, Lolita, and Matilda Lambicus. Those were the most impressive part of the store probably. Overall glad I stopped in but maybe not worth going out of your way unless something special is on the growler line. |
74 /100 Federal House Bar & Grille (Restaurant) 22 MARKET SPACE Visited Monday lunchtime. Fairly big place down by the harbor. Beer selection is not huge, but flights are available for tastings. Friendly and helpful service and nice enough lunch. |
76 /100 Federal House Bar & Grille (Restaurant) 22 MARKET SPACE Had lunch and a flight of beers. Nothing too exceptional, but the list did include 10 On draft at the Federal House in Annapolis. Pours or so decent micro brews. Nice crab soup. |
66 /100 Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge (Restaurant) 169 WEST ST Hipster kind of place, fancy food that’s OK, pretty good beer selection, a little overpriced. |
60 /100 33 WEST ST Average beer and food here, not bad though, beer releases from Fordham/dominion with glasses and socials every first Thursday |
74 /100 Mills Fine Wine & Spirits (Beer Store) 87 MAIN ST Nice little wine shop downtown, this place has done special orders for me, nice liquor and some nice beers here, bruery, dogfish, some imports and local craft |
80 /100 Federal House Bar & Grille (Restaurant) 22 MARKET SPACE NIce amount of taps, good rotating. Good food, but DJ comes in later in the night. one of the best beer bars in downtown annapolis. |
70 /100 Federal House Bar & Grille (Restaurant) 22 MARKET SPACE I was pretty surprised to see this place rated so low. It appears that they have improved things significantly based on some of the reviews. There is still a good smattering of macros, but there is a decent selection of craft on tap and in bottles including Delirium Noel this time of year. Out of all the places in old town Annapolis, this one had the broadest selection of beer. Staff were friendly and were eager to provide insight on beer selection. Lots of dark stained wood and exposed brick gave the place a comfy feel. I didn’t try the food, so I can’t speak for that. I would recommend stopping here if you are in the downtown area. |
44 /100 Castlebay Irish Pub (Restaurant) 193 MAIN ST, STE A All of the ratings below are accurate and there isn’t anything more I can add to the discussion. I would also recommend checking out the Federal House instead of this location. |
62 /100 33 WEST ST This watering hole is neatly situated right in old town Annapolis. On the plus side, the bartenders were friendly and happy to give you a taste of anything they had on tap. The taps are the downside. Mostly Fordham, Dominion, and InBev brews on tap, none of which are particularly good. Thankfully there are a few guest taps and a few decent bottles, but there isn’t anything that you can’t find in a decent grocery store. Maybe less so. It’s a great location with good people. Now if they only had some good beer... |
42 /100 Castlebay Irish Pub (Restaurant) 193 MAIN ST, STE A Typical artificial American Irish pub. One table outside to count as a patio I guess. Mostly macros. Go to the Rams Head instead. |
64 /100 33 WEST ST Cavernous place with lots of nooks and crannies, sone of them cozy enough for a midern place. Only a handful of Fordham and two Dominions on tap, plus some macros. Bar food was tasty. Nice happy hour specials, but only available at sests from which you can see the TV. |
60 /100 Mills Fine Wine & Spirits (Beer Store) 87 MAIN ST Wine place with a beer selection, at the picturesque harbor end of Main Street. Small but well chosen selection. |
72 /100 Mills Fine Wine & Spirits (Beer Store) 87 MAIN ST Stopped in here while visiting Annapolis to find a few beers for friends on our next stop. The selection was very solid, with plenty of regional and national craft brands, and with better prices than in a couple other stores in town. Plenty of singles with a mix-a-six option, lots of seasonal six-packs, and a solid, but not huge, selection of bombers and 750s. Nice atmosphere for a typical wine and spirits shop, too, and located just steps from the waterfront in Annapolis on the east end of Main. Impressive place. Worth stopping in to grab a bottle while in town. |
62 /100 Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge (Restaurant) 169 WEST ST One of the few places for decent craft beer in downtown Annapolis. The ambiance is nice and open and has a nice feel. Upstairs deck and patio which is nice. Service is up or down depending on who is working there. The girls are much better than the hipster dude’s who pretend they are too cool to care. Draft selection is about 3 taps but they rotate them pretty frequently with good high alcohol beers. Bottle list is not too impressive but again there are not too many places to eat decent food on a deck with a craft beer. |
62 /100 Mills Fine Wine & Spirits (Beer Store) 87 MAIN ST Decent but expensive place right in the center of town. Not really worth going out of your way for, but if you’re walking by and need a brew, it works. |
30 /100 Bin 201 (Beer Store) 201 HARKER PL Just a typical wine-focused shop with a few sixers of readily-available micros. Questionable whether it even belongs on this site. |
82 /100 Mills Fine Wine & Spirits (Beer Store) 87 MAIN ST Nice beer store in the center of town. Had a pretty nice selection of 6 packs and 22’s. The store closes early at 8 i think and i didnt have much time to shop around.
EDIT: Friendly staff and a mix your own 6 pack, although nothing extraordinary. Adding a couple points. |
46 /100 Bin 201 (Beer Store) 201 HARKER PL Wine shop in the town center that just recently started carrying beer. They have 3 stand up coolers in the back with 6 packs and some 22’s. Nothing extraordinary and the prices weren’t that great. No real reason to go here for beer unless they improve their selection or focus on "higher end" beers. |
48 /100 Rams Head Roadhouse (Bar) 1773 GENERALS HWY Local bar that serves some of the Fordham beers on tap and has a decent bottle list but nothing that I haven’t tried before or that was too exciting. |
88 /100 Bay Ridge Wine & Spirits (Beer Store) 111 HILLSMERE DR Great selection and very helpful. Just a little far from me and need more of a beer selection. |
52 /100 Castlebay Irish Pub (Restaurant) 193 MAIN ST, STE A Definitely not a destination for somebody in search of a big beer menu thats for sure! Service was good. Ambience was ok, had an irish pub kind of feel with the design and type of furniture, but some large weird paintings on the walls. I got a reuben and thought it was fantastic. My girlfriend enjoyed her burger...but thats hard to screw up. |
48 /100 Heroes Pub (Bar) 1 RIVERVIEW AVE Dark and dirty fireman and police hangout. Very nice and good service. They had 30 taps but nothing new, mostly area crafts and macro brews. Burger was good and the prices were cheap. |
84 /100 Mills Fine Wine & Spirits (Beer Store) 87 MAIN ST Nice shop with a nice seletion. |
38 /100 Castlebay Irish Pub (Restaurant) 193 MAIN ST, STE A typical fake Irish pub with the usual mass produced irish beers |
64 /100 Heroes Pub (Bar) 1 RIVERVIEW AVE solid grub and decent beer on tap |
54 /100 Bay Ridge Wine & Spirits (Beer Store) 111 HILLSMERE DR Big selection, but some beers are not meant to be aged as i’ve gotten some old out of date beer there a time or 2 |
78 /100 33 WEST ST good grub and they sell bombers of Arogant Bastard |
62 /100 33 WEST ST Came for happy hour and waited for seat at bar. Service was slow and then they turned over and forgot i wanted food. Their beer is mediocre but its the only brewey around. Someone needs to change that.....
Update* Heard about their bottle list and 100 beer club and took a look at it last night. Nothing that i hadn’t already rated and nothing uncommon. I Bumped up my selection 1 point. |
58 /100 Castlebay Irish Pub (Restaurant) 193 MAIN ST, STE A Nice Irish bar, decent food, but not a beer destination. I will look for their brew next time but i didn’t see it while i was there. |
70 /100 Federal House Bar & Grille (Restaurant) 22 MARKET SPACE Pretty standard bar with not too exciting of a beer offering. Service is great and they rotate their taps pretty regularly and get new local beers in (flying dog) and some others from time to time. This has become my go to beer bar in Annapolis. |
