60 /100 La Ferme Vaudoise (Grocery Store) PLACE DE LA PALUD 5 Vaudoise local foods and drinks including beers and ciders - the selection is not too wide (around 20 beers are available) and quite focused to a few breweries, but still worth visiting - especially if you would like to buy some fresh cheese :) |
100 /100 EPIQ (Beer Store) ESCALIERS DU MARCHÉ 17 Great beer, great food, great people. Just EPIQ :) |
86 /100 La Mise en Bière bar (Bar) RUE DE LA TOUR 14 Visited on a Monday evening. It’s a small, one-room bar with an interesting cast of characters, many gathered around the tables playing board games. Had the feel of a student hangout, we were definitely the oldest clientele. Friendly, fun atmosphere and then the long bar, where about 26 of the 30+ taps were active. Nice offerings, dominated that night by European craft breweries. No flights as such but small pours are available. Barkeep was knowledgeable, very friendly, and spoke good English. Great stop. |
84 /100 La Mise en Bière shop (Beer Store) RUE DE LA TOUR 14 Visited on a quiet Monday afternoon. Small shop, but stocked full of beers from around the world, including some rarities .. or at least rare to my neck of the woods. Spent my time in the Swiss section, which had maybe 3 shelves and 70+ different beers. Got great advice the whole time from the only staff member, who was very knowledgeable. You know a true beer lover when you meet one. Prices are high but not higher than anywhere else in Switzerland, and maybe even a touch lower. Highly recommended. |
84 /100 Bruxelles Café (Bar) PLACE DE LA RIPONNE 1 great place with more than 50 Belgian beers (around 8-10 on tap) and good burgers...the beers are a bit more expensive than the (Swiss) average but otherwise it would be difficult to complaint about anything |
64 /100 La Bavaria (Restaurant) RUE DU PETIT-CHENE 10 Typical Bavarian-style beer-hall with 5 beers on tap (Paulaner Dunkel, Salvator, and weizen, an Eichoff and a Belgian ale - if I recall correctly, Leffe, but maybe it was Affligem, I,m not 100% sure) and quite a few bottles; worth visiting |
82 /100 La Mise en Bière bar (Bar) RUE DE LA TOUR 14 Beer bar close to the center of Lausannen and just next to the associated bottle shop. Modern concrete based interior with not a lot of decoration. Not always the cleanest floor and tables and also the state of some beers I had was questionable. Good selection of 32 beers from tap with a good mixture of Swiss microbreweries, more renowned Swiss craft brewers and interesting imports from Europe and the US but nothing that will blow your mind. I really like the concept that all beers are available in 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5 pours and the prices are pretty low for Swiss standards. Self service at the bar. It was also possible to have cooled ciders from the shop next door in the bar for a little extra charge. Overall a solid beer bar with a pretty good and broad selection and good value. Recommended |
86 /100 La Mise en Bière shop (Beer Store) RUE DE LA TOUR 14 Beer shop close to the center of Lausannen and just next to the associated beer bar. Pretty small room which is really packed with beers. Hard too estimate but I would say 400+ different brews. Beside smaller Swiss breweries (particularly from the French speaking part of Switzerland) they have a good selection from nowadays larger and more renowned European craft breweries (Buxton, Cloudwater, Napar, ...), classic Belgian offerings and also some American imports (Anchorage, Evil Twin, Prairie). Overall a good selection but regarding the imports nothing that is particularly hard to get elsewhere. What stand out for me is the excellent selection of Swiss our beers (BFM, Trois Dames, À Tue-Tête!) as well as a good selection of Swiss cider. Pretty good prices for Swiss standards and the staff has always been helpful and generous. The beers are also available in an online shop. Temperature is for sure higher than ideal for beer storage during summer. Definitely a place to go when you are in Lausanne and one of the most interesting bottle shops I visited in Switzerland. |
78 /100 Satellite (Bar) EPFL Outstandingly weird bar. On campus, run by students and a weird time capsule. Hasn't changed in 10 years but rather evolved a little bit. You can definitely feel the anti-establishmentarian.
Tap selection is good but that's not why people come here.
Definitely check this out if you are at the EPFL campus or if you want to relive your carefree student days. |
60 /100 RUE CENTRALE 4 Similar in style to the other pubs of the franchise with the same selection; worth visiting |
48 /100 RUE CENTRALE 4 Visited 13.07.19. A chain brewpub, with brown wooden interior of any cheap restaurant chain - as well as the background music they would play. Six of their own beers on tap. They have outdoor seating, free wifi and theh do food. |
90 /100 La Mise en Bière bar (Bar) RUE DE LA TOUR 14 32 beer taps - should I say anything else? :) |
92 /100 La Mise en Bière shop (Beer Store) RUE DE LA TOUR 14 A beer shop with amazing selection and reasomable prices |
74 /100 PLACE DU TUNNEL 1 A brewpub with great ambiance, 7 beers on tap, delicious pizzas and reasonable prices |
86 /100 De l'Autre Côté (Bar) RUE CITÉ-DEVANT 4 Great place right next to the cathedral
The, have 10 beers on tap and several bottled ones, as well; worth visiting |
76 /100 La route du tabac (Grocery Store) AVENUE DE COUR 69 4 frigo une bonne sélection de ipa et de wild ale très beaux Shop et bon conseil du vendeur |
80 /100 Le lab du Dr.Gab's (Bar) RUE DE BOURG 39 I would like to go there with my friend Raoul, two weeks ago. It is a new place in Lausanne, a concept from Gab's brewery, hard to get an opinion. I give a good note but I think that it is a bobo place, in one of the most famous street in our city. Two floors, often overcrowded, the choice is decent, the main Docteur Gab's and some others breweries like the so called Danish or Belgian Mikkeller and to Öl, the prices are not cheap, the service is undifferent, not so friendy like the pibar or de l'Autre Côté or la mise en bière, an industry for middle high class young people, of course, it is just my point of view, well located, better to go there during the winter or rainy place, no terrace, if I am not wrong. |
92 /100 De l'Autre Côté (Bar) RUE CITÉ-DEVANT 4 I went there with my friend Raoul, because that the lab was crowded, two weeks ago. In my point of view, it is a nice place to be, in a pleasant part of the city. The bar is small but during the week, you could be able to find some free seats. Not the biggest beer choice, but they change the beers at the draft relatevily often, some bottles available, not so cheap but the barman was really friendly, good food, relax music, next to the cathedrale. |
86 /100 La Mise en Bière bar (Bar) RUE DE LA TOUR 14 Medium sized room. Good ambience and service. Only snacks are served. Excellent beer selection. A mix of Americans, Europeans and Swiss beers. But I'm not talking about ordinary stuff, I'm talking about classics like: AleSmith, Dark Horse, Prairie, Hoppin' Frog, Mikkeller, To Øl, Amager, Del Ducato, BFM, Trois Dames, ......
Mandatory for beer hunter living or visiting Switzerland. |
52 /100 La route du tabac (Grocery Store) AVENUE DE COUR 69 It is a small kiosk, at the avenue de Cour, not so far from the train station, south part of the city. It was not the first time that I crossed through this place and once I have decided to go inside, because I have observed a nice selection of beers. In fact, there is an interesting selection of some Lausanne and Swiss craft beers, some Scandinavian beers probably brewed in Belgium, the prices are not so cheap, Swiss prices. My main critic is the owner, this day, the gay was so cold and distant, I felt a bad sensation, if you are in the area go there and make your opinion. |
62 /100 RUE CENTRALE 4 Part of a bigger chain beers brewed on site..just the usaul 5 on.. |
70 /100 La Mise en Bière shop (Beer Store) RUE DE LA TOUR 14 Food and value non applicable. Hard to judge value when you’re not a swiss resident, and really depending on the styles you buy.
About the shop:
Standard beer shop with, apparently good suppliers and access to “prestige”crafts.. you’ll find a lot of “legends”here.
Keep your dick in your pants though as this shop, like many craft shops, has simply built up too much stock to handle.
While that may impress some, the shop doesn’t have the means to refrigerate nearly a fraction of those “top gun IPA”while most of the fresh stuff lands on hot shelves or on one of the piles (literally) waiting to go off. Even if the selection is otherwise superb and many rare gems are waiting to be dicovered the overall feel is a bit dingy, cluttered and a little desperate.
If you love intensely hopped beers, leave the shop and go to the excellent adjacent pub of the same name. It is manned by the same friendly, relaxed and competent staff.
That being said, there are many safe options in the shop still.
The bar itself is worth the trip so you might aswell see the shop. |
98 /100 La Mise en Bière bar (Bar) RUE DE LA TOUR 14 Hi score!
Loved this place, very friendly, very knowledgable and unobstrusive staff.
Staff is passionate and educated about their wares.
No stinky food, no stupid music, no shitty beers.
33 (thirty three) taps, each with different beer, plus a selection of bottles.
Ranges from low abv sessionables to 15% quads, super sour and dry to sticky sweets.
The selection comprises a great selection of local crafts aswell as those international rockstar “must havs”. What particularly stood out for me was the selection of specialty beers, not just dozens of IPA.
Only minus would be the prices, allthough justified, check your finances before checking in.

90 /100 La Mise en Bière bar (Bar) RUE DE LA TOUR 14 I really enjoyed this place. Very small and personal, with the only food being some small snacks (e.g. hummus with bread), but I really liked the selection of beers, with a lot of different styles and plenty from the top Swiss craft brewers, and beyond. Two of the beers I had (one Swiss and one Danish) were top class, so perhaps that colours my rating a bit, but I thought it was a great spot. |
76 /100 La Mise en Bière shop (Beer Store) RUE DE LA TOUR 14 Bottle shop directly next the la Mise en Bière bar, only separated by a window . The selection has few regular beers and substitutes the somewhat uncommon international beers with uncommon Swiss beers. They also have some US and Scandinavian Beers that are very hard to get. Some of the beers are also on tap next door, so if you are in Lausanne, you should visit the bar and the shop. |
74 /100 La Mise en Bière bar (Bar) RUE DE LA TOUR 14 Pretty nice bar not too far from the city 'center' in Lausanne, directly adjacent to the bottle shop of the same name. At the time of my visit, the 33 taps had a wide range of styles, quite a few of which excited me. They are also one of the few bars here, which have a crowler for reasonably priced beers to go - although it didn't see much use during my visit. The bar had a very nice vibe to it as it wasn't busy this time but I have previously turned away at the door because it was packed, seems to depend on day and time. If you are in Lausanne or the surrounding area, definitely visit both bar and bottle shop. |
74 /100 La Mise en Bière shop (Beer Store) RUE DE LA TOUR 14 Average sized bottle shop in the middle of Lausanne. Excellent selection of some local beers which are hard to find elsewhere but also great selection of internationals, especially Belgians. I have found the prices to be lower than comparably sized bottle shops elsewhere in Switzerland. If you are in the region, this place is definitely a must visit.

74 /100 La Mise en Bière bar (Bar) RUE DE LA TOUR 14 Quite nice bar close to the city center and a lot of taps, from which you can choose between several quantities. The selection can be a bit overwhelming. The bar looks nice, but for my taste a little to generically hip (everything in there seems to scream "craftbeer"). However, this is a nice place where you get good beer, so there is no real reason to complain. |
88 /100 Satellite (Bar) EPFL This is a beautiful place at the campus of EPFL. A bit difficult to get there, if you are not going to EPFL in the first place. The bar is a bit worn down, bit nicely decorated (think of a Belgian student pub). They have lots of taps with "normal popular beers" as well as Belgian beers. They have quite a nice bottle selection as well and the prices are quite cheap (by swiss standards). The place has books, games, kicker tables and a terrace and a genuine comfortable atmosphere, (if you like the student atmosphere). Depending on the crowd, you might have to wait a bit for your beer, but the service is nice and helpful (but make sure to say hello before you order something ;-)). If you have the time, it is really worth coming here. |
90 /100 La Mise en Bière shop (Beer Store) RUE DE LA TOUR 14 I went to visit this place the last Monday, coming
back from Mont-Repos. In my point of view, it is a decent and beershop, in the center of the city. The selection is decent with Swisscraft and others countries. The prices are high, so for a special beer, it is ok but for a common beer, it is better to go to another shop. It is a place to visit and friendly service. |
90 /100 La Mise en Bière bar (Bar) RUE DE LA TOUR 14 I went at some opportunities at this place and I am really happy that you have a real bar of beersin this city and in the center, something different than the so-called pubs of the mafia heineko-carlsberg, serving the same boring song
to the mass people with the same selections of beers. The place is nice, it is better to arrive early, because it could be overcrowded during the week-ends, nice selection of beers that they change regularly from the tap. If you visit Lausanne and would like to see something different than some drunk with a gralsbourg, it is yout place!!!!!!!! |
66 /100 La brouette (Grocery Store) AVENUE D’ECHALLENS 79 For the beer hunters in Lausanne, this grocery is interesting to take the beers from Gimle brewery and from Vallorbe that they are not common breweries. A part of that, this place is not so interesting, I found the choice of products a bit poor, but it is just my personnal opinion. The staff is relatively friendly, a bit disorganized, go there to make your own opinion. |
66 /100 Lapin Vert (Bar) RUELLE DU LAPIN-VERT 2 This place is a Kind of legend in Lausanne, open since a Long time ago, generations of Teenagers came here to drink maybe the first beer, the first kiss, the first hangover and etc... For the beerhunter is not an interesting place, selling beers coming from macrobreweries like the kronenbourg. It could be nice to come once, why not. |
52 /100 Harper’s Pub (Bar) RUE DE LA BARRE 8 I must recognize that the Situation of the place is nice, outside is just perfect and really pleasant. Unfortunately, this place sell products from the heineken group, if I am not wrong, you find the same beers than every so called pub, boring. The atmosphere could changes, depend the Fashion, this place changed so many times of Managers. It is sad, because you we could make something great like the Pi bar but in biggest proportion. |
74 /100 Bruxelles Café (Bar) PLACE DE LA RIPONNE 1 I went once with a good friend. I drank a wonderful Carolus Christmas Edition. This place is average with a basical choice of Belgian beers with sometimes some specialities, it is a nice place to come sometimes |
64 /100 Globus Lausanne (Beer Store) 5, RUE DU PONT This cattle of supermarket is generally for high class people. The service is generally good, realy clean, nice way to show the products. Concerning the beers, for such kind of supermarkets, they could make an effort and to get more original beers, the choice is really poor with sometimes a new product, they focuse more on the wine. |
56 /100 The Great Escape (Bar) RUE DE LA MADELEINE 18 Nice place with a cool decor. The beer selection includes some of the most standard beers of several styles. Lots of place outside even if it is crowded, so it has a relaxed atmosphere. |
48 /100 PLACE DU TUNNEL 1 Rather central placed brewpub with a nice decor and nice pizza. The beers are not especially fascinating. Still not a bad place. |
100 /100 RUE DU LAC 11 Amazingly original creations by a passionate and highly talented brewer. |
72 /100 Café de l’Hôtel de Ville (Bar) PLACE DE LA PALUD 10 I went a couple times but for me it is a bit a place for arrogants students or some bobos but even though I give a decent note, because it is only my Point of view. They make good salads, some nice beers, the place is small but the area is plesant, nice old houses, why not to go to discover a new place. |
84 /100 The Great Escape (Bar) RUE DE LA MADELEINE 18 It is a nice place in Lausanne. Of course for the beers they serve the beers from Heinken Groups and some others. The service is usually good and they make delicious burgers. During the week-ends this bar is often crowded but nice atmosphere. |
80 /100 La Bossette (Bar) PLACE DU NORD 4 It is a famous place in Lausanne and one of the oldest place. It is often full not like the great escape but It is easly crowded. Generally is the atmosphere pleasant and the choice of beer is better than a lot of places. |
94 /100 Satellite (Bar) EPFL I have to recognize that I don’t really like the students atmosphere, but this place is nice and they make perfectly their job and the prices are cheap for Switzerland. It is a right place to start a night or after to go to make a barbecue to the lake. |
