“Swung by on 4/14/23 for their opening weekend (they have been selling beer in stores for a few years). This is a pretty unique spot, at least for NJ. Located next to commercial fish warehouses and the like, there's a bit of parking, but not much, but seems like you pretty much street park wherever you want. The brewery itself is rather small (right now, with only the 1st building open). There's a small service area and the brewing area, but no indoor seating. Outside, there are front and back patios, with the back one being water adjacent. Lots of picnic table and Adirondack type seating between the two areas. The 2nd building plans look really cool, with a downstairs bar / tasting room type of area and an upstairs for party rentals and the like, but none of that is planned to open until Fall '23 (and being this is NJ, I assume it will take longer). The beers here are pretty solid, with 8 available on opening, plus some to-go cans in the fridge. It was pretty packed for a Friday afternoon, so good for them. I'll definitely be back once the crowds die down a little. Service was a little slow, but hey, its opening weekend. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area based purely off of the uniqueness compared to our warehouse breweries, main street breweries, and the occasional farmhouse brewery.“

“Little neighborhood spot on the main little drag in this small shore-adjacent town. Two little strip mall store fronts combined together these days, which seems to be double the size of when they started out here, but still a smallish place. Locals / busyish kind of vibe on a late Saturday afternoon / early evening. Probably only worth stopping if it's on your way somewhere else, as the beers are nothing to write home about, but it's a decent spot. Service was a little slow, but nice.“

“Wide open, warehouse style. Lots of selection, with a NJ section set aside. Staff asks for any assistance. Biggest drawback is not selling singles.“

“Little startup brewery on the main drag in town. There was parking in the back, but I'm not sure if it was for employees only or not. Odd hours. Make sure you check to see what they are currently before planning a trip. Beers were above average for the size of the brewery. I had a pleasant experience.“

“Nice little new startup a mile from my house. Decent beers that are named after local places with 1 or 2 that are really good. Friendly service with, a relaxed, fun atmosphere. 4 ounce samples, flights, and pints are available for all 6 beers but, growlers for only 4. (Depending on availability). They are only open a few hours a week right now. Over time I think their beer will get more interesting and their hours will expand. It’s definitely worth checking out.“

“Very nice startup brewery a little off the beaten track near the shore (if that’s even possible...I’m a born in Jersey resident and hadn’t previously heard of a town called Belford near the shore)...easy enough to find though...and well worth the visit. This place is small...but a storefront venue...so all the beer making is around you when you are visiting and sampling...but it’s not a warehouse...it’s definitely an old store...which makes it fun when you take the "tour"...as you can pretty much just turn or walk a few feet and you can see everything. I love how they have the fermenters in the storefront window. The owners have been life long Belford residents...that’s why they wanted the brewery in their town. Interestingly, they name all of their beers after Belford places...so of course I asked what they will do when they run out of names from such a small town...one of the fellows laughed and said don’t worry...I know enough places in this town that there’ll not be a problem....lol. The beers here are good for a startup...they need to get even better though if they want to grow and be successful...my guess is they will. I highly recommend a visit here to support this new brewery.“

“Small selection but, usually has some gems (Allagash, MBC, Kane). Pretty nice singles rack with most of the main craft breweries represented like founders, stone, dfh, SN, etc. so it's good for grabbing that one you haven't had. The staff is helpful and pretty knowledgeable.“

“Famous for the Evil Clown sign. Large selection but it might take a few trips to figure out where everything is because the craft beer is spread out in multiple locations. Bonus points for growler station and make your own 6 pack (albeit with limited selection). Very rarely find anything rare here but they have so much it’s hard to not find something worth drinking.“

“Decent little beer section. Nothing too exciting and prices aren’t great. They get bonus points for always having special Kane bottle releases (Morning Bell, Night to End All Dawns). The people who work there seem anxious to help. Biggest issue is the selection rarely changes. Has potential though.“

“This place has really improved a lot in the last year or so. Craft section is not huge but has a solid selection and they get a surprising amount of rarer stuff (i.e. Founders Backstage stuff). Staff is always helpful but not overbearing and prices are solid, especially with the discount card. It might not blow you away but they’re worth a second look if you haven’t been there in a while.“

“Lower selection but what they sell on a whole is better. Prices seem about $2.00 more than local stores. They do sell single beers but the lions share of the display is outside beer area on end cap of next aslie. Beer display sometimes is also in main walkways, on top of deli counters etc.“

“Selection better than average for a liquor store, but prices are way out of line, ($11.99 for River Horse 6packs) and the novelty of buying beer in a supermarket isn’t worth that much. [@willblake: Every chain gets 2 licenses in NJ; have fun hunting for them! Trader Joe’s probably makes the best use of this law at their stores in Westfield and West Windsor...] “

“Hit up this place on my way home from Spirits, Red Bank. Nothing.“

“A shocking find: beer in an NJ grocery store. I still don’t understand what loophole allows this.

Selection covered many brands, semi local stuff like Victory, Ommegang, Stoudts, etc. Not great coverage of each brand. Some surprising finds like Tripel Karmeliet, St. Peters, Maredsous. Single beers not available, i.e. no broken six-packs. Not that I had any questions, but I was staring at the beers for 15 minutes and nobody asked if I needed help. For what it’s worth, there was VERY helpful staff throughout the rest of the store.

Worth the trip if you can’t make it a couple miles south to Spirits in Red Bank, I guess.“
