“Just a few steps from Plank Town Brewing and the Simpsons mural. In a deconsecrated church, so some Gothic elements plus some 1960s windows. Serving bar plus benches and booths, and in the center room. Lots of private spaces available for hire, like the choir loft and the former sacristy. Plenty of outdoor covered areas too. Good variety nof beer and cider on tap. Food is from food their own kitchen, but they sort of look like permanent food truck sorts of things,“

“The only brewery in Bart Simpson's hometown, so it's worth a visit just for that reason. Also I had a coupon for a free beer flight from one of their staff who hosted a tasting at The Bier Stein. I sat at the large central bar and got quick and efficient service from the two barman. Everyone around me were regulars, and we had some great conversations. There are lots of restaurant tables as well, and you can see into the brewhouse also. Plenty of historic pictures on the walls, many from when Eugene was in the middle of the hops growing region of Oregon. The beers on offer were decent, some better than others. The food was very tasty - I had fish & chips made from locally caught red snapper. Simpsons mural is a couple of blocks away. Solid place to drink your way through the beer menu.“

“Visited on Monday 10/11/14 around 4.30pm/4/45. The place was empty at first but soon started to fill up with early evening diners, largely adult groups, office workers etc only one family group with kids i seem to recall. Large open plan and spacious brewpub, walk around island bar towards the back, nice wooden tables fashioned from big slabs of oak. Friendly and prompt service. 15 beers on tap, all their own brews. 3 set tasting flights, all 4’s, we picked up tasters of the others no problems. Beers are nothing to get excited about, my ratings averaged out at 2.96, one of the lowest averages of the brewpubs I visited on this trip, just one beer hit the hights of 3.4 for me, that said this is a locals diner more than them trying to produce world beating beers, so you get what you get - ticks! Overall for beer quality not really worth the visit but for ticks and if you are passing - hit it up! They can only improve their beers over time and not a total disaster to be fair.“

“This place is great in many ways. The food is still a work in progress. Their brews are solid. Go for the ExSB or smokey Porter. They often have live music too.“

“Wide open area, with seating around the outside, and the bar in the center of the room. Tall ceilings give the sound plenty of space to move around, and the place does get very, VERY, LOUD. The food menu was unique, and tasty, and can only get better. No beers being brewed yet, but I look forward to the first batch this summer.“
