68 /100 Trinkgut Münster (Beer Store) HAMMER STR. 371 Large collection of the more standard German beers. Some shelfs with craft beer from various countries. Mostly Germany, England, Scotland and Belgium. Interesting enough. (12-2023). |
76 /100 KERßENBROCKSTR. 8 Visited on 31st Jan 2020. Large single roomed taproom out in Munster's suburbs. About a 25-30 min walk to centre of town I reckon, we took a cab from the hbf. 12 beers on, board hadn't been updated but 2 set flights available plus small pours. Tried the standard range and seasonal flights. Beer quality is OK, not top draw craft beer but OK. Good mix of styles. Service at the bar and not table service. Staff friendly, prices good. Decent enough venue and a should visit if in town but don't make a special journey |
72 /100 KERßENBROCKSTR. 8 Moderate sized, modern looking tap room, with a big wooden bar and brewing equipment to be seen in a tiled area at the back. Decent amount of seating inside with tables also outside on the street. Service was friendly. 13 beers on tap, mostly own with some guests, all own beers are bio. When I visited the tap selection was strongly dominated by light hoppy beers. Tried several house beers, most were OK or better but nothing was spectacular. Prices quite reasonable. The best house beer that I had was the Maibock. Worth a look if in the area. |
70 /100 KREUZSTRASSE 4-10 Brewery, bar, restaurant and bottle shop all in one. I only visited the bar though. Around ten different of their own beers available, a couple of them only in the bottle. Super friendly and beer interested service, very nice prices |
64 /100 Fyal Central (Bar) GEISBERGWEG 8 Small bar in the city Centre, i added it as it sells Dackel Bier. Selection is Dackel beers, some macros. Price ok, service ok. |
78 /100 KERßENBROCKSTR. 8 Bar was rented out for our exchange group so the ambiance was Dutch and German students who received a beer tasting.... anyway, there is enough room, prices for the beers on the board where good, beers are good, service very friendly. if you are in the area and its open... why not go in |
66 /100 Stuhlmacher (Restaurant) PRINZIPALMARKT 6/7 Bar and Restaurant, when i was there filled with older people and my group didnt want to stay there, so i went later. Beer wise its ok, they have a housebeer, price is ok, service ok. |
74 /100 The James (Bar) HÖRSTERSTRASSE 27 English pub, English beers available, prices fair, service good, too bad i couldnt find any Gruthaus beers |
84 /100 KREUZSTRASSE 4-10 Brauhaus restaurant and bar etc, dark, cramped, cozy. Beers where good, food was amazing (Had the bloodsausage). Prices fair, recommended ! |
66 /100 Stuhlmacher (Restaurant) PRINZIPALMARKT 6/7 They do some nice variations on regional dishes. |
62 /100 KREUZSTRASSE 4-10 Back in the progressive late 1970s and early 1980s, this was a place for very non-progressive students to hang out... which is why I disliked it. Times have changed and Pinkus' organic beers are now sold in the respective food stores all over Germany. Objectively, I ought to like the place now - but old prejudice dies hard, and to walk in still requires a slight effort. ;-) |
66 /100 Mole (Restaurant)
AN DER GERMANIA BRAUEREI 5 Rather large place, mixture of a bar and a restaurant. It is located next to the 'Dackel' brewery which also provides beer for this place and it's just around the corner from 'Flaschenmeisterei'. Looks very modern, somewhat minimalistic, almost sterile. The tap and bottle selection are overall not bad at all, however not very exciting by ratebeer standards either. Some german and Scottish craft beer accompanying the obligatory macro Pils and Weizen, supported by a handful of Belgian and US choices. Prices are decent but not cheap for such a remote place in Germany. The bartender was very friendly and attentive, had a good time there overall. In itself not really worth a detour but a combination with the two other places mentioned above is possible. |
72 /100 Flaschenmeisterei (Beer Store) DORPATWEG 10 Medium-sized bottle shop a bit off the city centre with all kinds of beverages available, but mainly beer and lemonade. Beerwise, it has international craft beer like Brewdog, but also some locals like Finne and German beer in general on offer. Not the most interesting selection in Münster, but still above your average selection in German bottle shops. The staff is friendly and attentive, prices are solid. I prefer Getränkefeinkost and Braukunstwerk nevertheless. |
66 /100 Stuhlmacher (Restaurant) PRINZIPALMARKT 6/7 Pretty nice restaurant in the not so old old town of Münster. Looks very traditional with lots of wood and old interior, maybe not as unique as Pinkus but still a gem. They have twelve taps if I recall correctly, mostly macro stuff, but they have their own beer as well, a classic but well-hopped and pleasant Lager. The staff was very friendly and talkative, had a small conversation about beer in general which I didn't start. Overall a really nice place, although I didn't try the food. Wouldn't come here for the beer again, but it might be worth a visit for their house beer. |
46 /100 Superbiomarkt Arkaden (Grocery Store) LUDGERISTRASSE 100, Pretty standard organic grocery store in the city centre of Münster. Has many of the Pinkus beers available but not all of them. Other beers are the usual suspects in these kinds of shops like Finne and Neumarkter Lammsbräu, plus there are some organic ciders which might be of interest. Prices are average, staff is friendly. |
38 /100 Superbiomarkt Arkaden (Grocery Store) LUDGERISTRASSE 100, Organic super-market in the basement of a dull shopping-mall, close the Muenster Picasso Museum; ridiculously small selection of some german organic brews, mainly from Finne, Pinkus and Lammsbräu. Nothing of interest there, that could not be found in any other german " Bio-Markt". Not recommended! |
74 /100 KREUZSTRASSE 4-10 Classic Brauhaus with lots of wooden interior and blue tiles on the wall. Very cozy with a relaxed atmosphere, although it can be very crowded during the weekends when finding a free table can be difficult. If you were able to get one, you can expect hearty dishes with lots of meat and potatoes for reasonable prices. It's not really sophisticated but great when you crave for that kind of food. More than a handful of taps available which can be ordered in 0.1 l portions, all the other Pinkus beers can be ordered in bottles. If you cannot drink them all in one session, you can pick them up in the shop as well. Service was quick, prices were reasonable. Recommended! |
68 /100 Trinkgut Münster (Beer Store) HAMMER STR. 371 Very nice bottle shop with lots of craft beer from all over the world, mostly germans. Also very large selection of traditional german beers. |
64 /100 KREUZSTRASSE 4-10 Typical German brewpub - lot’s of old wood, many rooms, comfy atmosphere. 8 drafts are all in great shape. Very nice place for a visit. |
90 /100 Drübbelken (Restaurant) BUDDENSTRAßE 14 Typical and traditional food for the region of Münster in Westphalia. Also seasonal and regional dishes on the menu. Very traditional and historical house with an open fireplace in its dining room, very cosy. They serve all the Pinkus Müller-beers in proper glassware. The restaurant is in a street next to the brewery. |
72 /100 KREUZSTRASSE 4-10 Visited on Friday 11th December 2015. A good trek from the Hbf gets you to the brewpub, smallish rooms, dark and cozy, traditional wood panelling, plenty of blue and white crockery adorning the walls. 6 of their own beers on and available in 1 euro tasters, which was handy. Food good, service good. Liked the place and worthy of a visit. |
52 /100 Trinkgut Münster (Beer Store) HAMMER STR. 371 The selection is ok but the guys there have no idea about craft beer at all! |
54 /100 Superbiomarkt Arkaden (Grocery Store) LUDGERISTRASSE 100, There are 6 Superbiomarkts in Munster, this is the most central in a shooping arcade. A decent selection of bio beers including a lot from the local brewer Pinkus and also Neumarkter bio beers |
72 /100 The James (Bar) HÖRSTERSTRASSE 27 nice place. Very English looking. Good tap selection of English beers. Bottled English beers were interesting but way too expensive. The Gruthaus Uberwasser-alt was amazing. If they have more from this local brewery I suggest you try them. |
74 /100 KREUZSTRASSE 4-10 Nice old place. Quick service. Food was good (they do have an English menu). Good selection of their own brewed beers |
60 /100 Stuhlmacher (Restaurant) PRINZIPALMARKT 6/7 Nice old place on themain old street. A popular place with tourists and locals alike. Not much choice in beer however. I didnt try the food. |
62 /100 Trinkgut Münster (Beer Store) HAMMER STR. 371 About an hours walk from the city centre. A huge place with a varied selection of German beers |
76 /100 KREUZSTRASSE 4-10 Located on the edge of the beautiful Old Town, this brewpub, renowned for its Altbier, is a nice and cozy place to enjoy decent beer and a good Westphalian meal. The interior consists of two fining halls, a little dark. and some benches and tables outside in good weather. The selection consists of six different beers produced on location, and more can be bought in the adjacent shop. Friendly and reasonably knowledgeable staff. Not very cheap for Germany but definitely worth a visit. |
80 /100 Stuhlmacher (Restaurant) PRINZIPALMARKT 6/7 Really great food with some typical specialities from the area of Münster served in the restaurant or on the pati, directly in the most famous street of Münster. Several beers on tap and also several bottled beers. Also available is the "Stuhlmacher Lager", which is brewed for the restaurant in Bamberg. |
86 /100 The James (Bar) HÖRSTERSTRASSE 27 A very nice Britisch pub with typical interieur. Six beers in tap with a monthly changing guest tap. Some great bottled beers as well. Food is crisps, sandwiches or stew. |
74 /100 KREUZSTRASSE 4-10 For tourists, Pinkus is a very nice to experience the typical Münsterland style (although I personally only like the malt beers there). The food is quite good, and the ambience is typical for a German brewery. |
78 /100 The James (Bar) HÖRSTERSTRASSE 27 The James is the only pub in Münster and surrounding with a ’large’ beer selection. 6 beers on tap and more on bottles.
Most of the beers are from the UK, but even some belgians and americans has been seen. |
66 /100 KREUZSTRASSE 4-10 Visited several times. Good oldfashioned brewpub, typical German. Good beer, all biological. Typical German food, tasty and not too expensive. A small shop sells the beers of the brewery. Heartly recommended when in Münster. |
68 /100 KREUZSTRASSE 4-10 Brewery and brewery-tap in the heart of Münster; the tap is a gorgeous, old fashioned restaurant : old furniture, low ceilings and several cozy rooms, partially ornated with blue ( dutch) tiles… Do not only sample the special Pinkus brews, also the meals are far better than in most of all these depressing german! restaurants |
80 /100 KREUZSTRASSE 4-10 Only brewery left in the beautiful city of Münster. Rightfully famous for their Altbier that is very different from those of Düsseldorf. They brew quite a few other beers as well, all biological. Very good and atmospheric restaurant, great beers. There are in fact two restaurants, served from the same kitchen, the one furthest from the brewery front is the real Brauereigaststätte. A small shop sells all their beers plus some other stuff, you may have to ring the doorbell. |
