“Need to write up more of the places I've been to. Yes, another brewer in an industrial/office park, but these are ideal places with their high ceilings for fermenters. While I was here, some ladies wondered if they might have tie-dye T-shirts, and I replied "listen to the music they're playing. You'll only find black ones. Yes, metal on the PAs. But a nice menu of Mexican style food, including a "California" burrito wrapped with fries, not avocado. Food was pretty good for lunch. Specialties seem to be light lagers and hazies, though maybe they go in for darker beers when in season?“

“Former 350 Brewing location in the Cornerstone Centre strip in Tinley Park, IL. with head brewer & owner Erik Pizer back with 9 solid brews so far, along with cocktails, wings, curds, burgers, and other pub fare. Prompt & friendly service on our initial visit, sampling all of Erik's beers. and a few snacks to fill in the gaps. Nice brewpub feel, with the owner meeting & greeting whenever possible which only added to the comfort level.“

“This is a beer geek's store/bar. The sell local brews, and some hard to find bombers. They have some unique beers on tap to. We have found great beers here. Staff was nice.“

“Hidden in an industrial park, plenty of parking, new building, tall ceilings, dark paintings on walls, playing metal music. They do serve food although I did not have time to order a taco at the time. Tried some beers, they were alright, nothing off.“

“I used to love this place. I drive 30 minutes to get awesome local brews and other goodies. The service isn’t top notch. So,time I feel like I’m a burdon to the guy that’s always there. Never gotten a free sample pour. I don’t. Are an effort to go there to be honest.“

“This is a very hard spot to find, almost no signage or anything that would make you notice this place form the road. I had to drive around and when I finally saw the brewing equipment pulled around to the front of the brewery. Inside they are playing the post-entombed broski doom stone metal that was popularized by 3 floyds and alexi form local option. They did play some band called beast maker that ironically sounded like a clone of the band on my shirt which was solitude aeternus. The bartender dylanwas an awesome dude and there was another female bartender who was also very cool. They shared beers with the whole bar and in general were extremely friendly and engaging. I had 1 taco of al pastor and it was really nice. I think the price scheme is a bit over the top but it tastes real nice. The beer is decent, no flights offered but decent sized tastes were allowed. I think there was a range in quality of the beers, perhaps coinciding with each successive batch they brewed or who knows. They tasted pretty decent for being a young brewery. If you don’t want to travel east to 18th street this is the same experience just with less hipster, more down to earth bartenders.“

“This is a beer store that allows you to pick apart 6ers and usually has one of hte stronger selections in the area. There are also 7 or so drafts of varying rarity that are offered as samplers or full beers. All in all a great place if you are a ticker.“

“Wow. I was blown away from this place. Very unknown place it seams. They do it all- session brews up through the huge barrel aged stouts and barleywines. I had samples of 8 of their 16 brews. I was very impressed. Across the board solid to exceptional brews. I brought a crowler of their Nimbus home with me. Great place if you are in the south burbs.“

“Very comfortable place, although it’s a little hard to find if you’re not looking for it. It’s set in an industrial park, so use your GPS or Google Maps to get right there. You walk in and it’s like "Wow... I’m in a warehouse" but then it’s like "OK, there’s tables and a bar and it’s all separated so I know how to do this!" I had no idea what I wanted when I sat at the bar, so I went with the "Polish Smoke" and I kept them coming for my entire visit. Just after I ordered, a cat jumped up and sat down on the barstool next to me. "Stormy" by name... I’m liking this place better and better. I look around at the chalkboards and bomber-offerings and I realize there are no TVs. There is music playing overhead (maybe WLUP?) but there are no sportsball games going on. After about 20 minutes, the staff starts pulling out a projector and screen. "OK", I think... "they’re going to put on the Bulls." NO! They threw in a DVD of a Judas Priest concert. Really? YES! So I sat for longer than I intended to. Enjoyed every beer, met 3 new friends, and had the pleasure of talking with owner Gene, who was slinging beers at the time. What an awesome dude! Sarcastic and hilarious... but most of all, it’s really obvious he loves his brewery. Food? Not on my radar. I came here for beer. After I wrote all this I decided to pull down the review numbers. Hailstorm gets a total score of 96. I was surprised by this, but I seriously can’t find many flaws. When I’m "south" and have the choice to go to 350, Rock Bottom Orland, Tribes, etc... I will set my GPS to Hailstorm.“

“I’ve had two pleasant visits here. My expectations were pretty low for a taproom of a new brewery in a suburban industrial park, but greatly exceeded both times. Each time I came with a lady friend excited that they brewed a beer called BBW, which wasn’t on tap or in production either time, but there were plenty of others to try: 12 taps, all brewed in house. The 5 samples for $5 is a great idea, and the beer to go prices are not to bad. Lots of friendy, unpretentious people around with whom to compare tasting notes. There’s no food served, but the house provides something to munch on while drinking. lots of space for future expansion. So far, the decor is drab and service is great, which I hope will be the case for years to come.“

“I’ve been here about 4 or 5 times now... my first outing about a year ago on my birthday. It’s situated in a weird "semi-developed" stripmall-ish area and I always use the CVS as a landmark for me to turn. I really have never gone to Tribes with the intent of reviewing it, but I must say I have always had a pleasant experience. The beers have always been fresh, the food well-prepared and the staff friendly and attentive. The rotating menu-board is lovely and I have only once been daunted by a choice that was no longer on tap. My first food experience was with their fish & chips (battered fish and fries) which was perfect. Since then, my friends and I have only indulged in charcuterie plates which have been flavorful and fulfilling. Finally, on my most recent visit, I ordered a Gose. Our server could not comment on it since she had never tried it... but I didn’t mind since I was simply in the mood for a Sour. Our drinks were delivered promptly and the beers were on-point. After about ten minutes, our server returned to check on us... and to tell us she sampled the Gose (which is seriously an acquired taste). She ended up actually liking it and chatted with us to review it! (I believe her name was Jessica and we tipped her well, but she deserves a raise or a gift-card or something!) Said and done, Tribes is an easy place to find, there will always be something on tap that you like, and you can choose your food as your budget dictates and not be disappointed.“

“Typical industrial brewery hang out, nothing new. 10 beers on tap, cheap $5 flight with only a $1 upcharge for ba beers. The beers were really solid. This is a place I’d visit more.“

“I finally made it here after years of wanting to tick the place. I really like their super informative website that is updated often. Driving up I wasn’t expecting a spot in a strip mall. Walking in it feels like a chain place from the outfits, to the standard decor to the menus. There are tons of tv with live menus with price, size pour, and interactive feature like new deals who is checking in on untappd. I like this and wish some place besides Links was a little more forward thinking in the city. The draft list is really solid and varied. They allow you to tick 4 beers in a sampler which is a huge plus at a restaurant. The beers tasted crisp and fresh, you can tell they clean their lines. The food despite feeling like a chain on the menu was really solid. Besides the locale, this is a really solid place I would come back to if I lived closer.“

“Industrial park setting and (for now at least) despite the nice decor in the tasting area, it has a very warehouse feel to it. That said the beer is good and most of it is on the higher end of the alcohol scale. Would like to have seen another "sessionable" ale available. My bartender was very friendly and seemed pretty knowledgeable. I drank two there, 4 bottles and one howler to take home. I will visit again.“

“New brewery in Tinley Park. We’ve been there a few times plus to their grand opening. Fun place - great service. Can almost always talk to the brewer and ask questions. It’s nice to be able to see the brewery too. Does need some decorations on the walls of some kind or another. I love their Dominatrix and Vlad. And! I think their Prairie pale ale is one of the best and most flavorful I’ve had. I really love Deschutes Mirror Pond, but would get the nod from me.“

“We visited on our way to DLD 2014. What a really cool place. They had been opened about two weeks, nice place and a nice crowd. We sampled all their beers, five on tap, $1 per sample. Can’t beat that. No food, but you could bring or order food. Lots of room for expansion. When in the area, look them up. Well worth the stop.“

“Huge place in a strip mall right off LaGrange Road. Friday night crowd must have had 200-300 people there, with no available seating. Sports on most of the TVs, but several screens near the bar showed the current tap list, which is a nice feature. Seem to have regular tappings and events, so always a good group of beers on the list and a wide variety of styles. Just something of a weird vibe about the place didn’t sit with me. It was like being at Buffalo Wild Wings for football Sunday, except with good beer and the 20 something fake-hipster crowd. And nobody was friendly, staff included. Not rude per se, just not friendly. High marks mainly for the beer.“

“I thought it would be tough to top the Mokena location but....Tinley has exceeded my expectations! The outdoor patio/garden area makes you forget that you are in a strip mall in the suburbs. The assortment of unique food offerings as well as the plethora of craft beer choices makes this place unbeatable when it comes to bars/restaurants in the south suburbs! The fun, interactive events that are offered are above the rest in the area & are well-managed and professionally executed. This location is especially great for a group/family gathering!“

“Hands down, the best place to grab a beer and a burger in the southwest suburbs! The Tinley location has a a lot more space and seating. The Mokena location’s food is a bit better. Both locations have wide selection of craft beers and IPA’s, a thoughtful menu, knowledgeable and patient staff, and a warm, inviting decor, to make a pleasurable dining (and/or drinking) experience. Tappings and food specials every week, and constant updates to their website and social media sites. This place is on top of their game.“

“Whenever I’m on the south side, I make it a point to stop by Tribes. In my mind, it’s the ONLY place for miles and miles that I know will have a consistently killer beer list. Add to this their special/rare weeknight tappings, friendly and knowledgeable staff, delicious food selection and this summer’s inaugural Beer Fest, and you’ve found yourself a new favorite watering hole. The original Mokena location delivers the same experience. I’m sure glad my parents live only a few blocks away...always gives me an excuse to stop in. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner and learning more about how the bar got started - ready my full review at http://www.pourmanbeer.com/tribes/.“

“Hands down best beer bar in the Cook County suburbs great rotating beer selection would even put it up with the best Chicago beer bars.I love The Tribes in Mokena which is the best south of I 80 and Tinley Park Tribes has even more to offer meaning seating and a few more beers on tap.Let me start with the beer list 54 of the best beers available and the selection changes daily so I know you won’t get bored here. The staff if very knowledgable in all of these beers just ask them also very friendly. The food is outstanding and the menu changes seasonally they also have some great events check out oyster fest did I mention that both locations share the same menu so you can’t go wrong with either location although both have different beer lists which is cool because you can explore both locations and be surprised with how awesome 100 draft selections between both locations is. Back to the food I urge you to try the Poutines and grab a filet cause Tribes has great steaks also the burgers are outstanding too get a bison burger you won’t regret it.Now for the ambiance Tribes Tinley is huge compared to Mokena it has an awesome patio you want a place to bring a group of friends this is the place although it can get pretty crowded just get your name in with hostess and head up to the bar grab a list and enjoy one of the best beer lists in the state very good descriptions of beers and if that doesn’t help just ask the bartenders they are glad to help you out.Overall one of my favorite places in Illinois to enjoy craft beer and food so check it out you won’t regret it.Your welcome!!!“

“Great place to hang out, get some good food and great selection of beer. Our shop did most of the tables for both the restaurants, and so I get run across quite a few people that have visited one of the Tribes and they always have nothing but good things to say. Its definitely worth checking out, you wont be disappointed.“

“I have been living in the South suburbs of Chicago for over 10 years now. And only in the last 4 years have I been turned on to craft Beer. And that was because of Tribes Alehouse! I am writing this review for Mokena and Tinley because I believe them to be the same in all aspects except for sheer size. I have been an avid fan and supporter of the Tribes and tell all of my friends that this is the best place for craft Beer - bar none - in all of Chicagoland. They have 42 handles of awesomeness in Mokena and 54 tappers in Tinley Park. They are pretty much the only place to be able to get Three Floyds products consistently. Great events, service, atmosphere, food and beer!“

“I AM REVIEWING BASED ON BEER. I HAVE NOT EATEN AT THE TINLEY LOCATION. I WILL REVISE OR RESUBMIT WHEN I DO. Well, I thought the beer list in Mokena was great, but this was every bit as good + had a few more offerings! Ambiance: Not as warm and inviting as Mokena, but for sure had a great feel. They are still fairly new and have time to fill up some empty wall space! But overall it is much larger and roomier than Mokena and has a pretty cool patio where I think they are growing hops? Service & Selection: Amazing. I had the opportunity to sit at the bar for a couple prior to moving to a table with some friends. The bartenders were pretty knowledgeable and approachable. No attitudes here. Server knew so much more about beer than almost any beer place i have been to. How refreshing is that! Food I will try next time but it looked good. I happened to be there after a Fest they had put on and there were the most outrageous beer selections i have seen in recent memory. Keep it up Tribes! Both Places!“

“This place is considerably larger than the location in Mokena. That can be both a curse or a blessing, depending on your needs. If you are looking for coziness, you likely won’t get it here as it is serves more than twice the amount of people as in Mokena. However, if you want to enjoy great food and beer with a larger party, this is the place to do it. It seems as though it is a struggle to get a table for more than 8 people in Mokena but not in TInley. I believe the food menu is the same, however they have more beers on tap and an engine (always a plus). The service is always above average and the beer knowledge is much better than many places traveled.“

“A much bigger and more comfortable location than thier other location with a huge beautiful bar. Pros: -Insane number of taps -They rotate their taps quickly -Speical tappings most Thursdays -The Lager & Cheese Dip and Tomato Fliorentine soup might be worth the trip. -Awesome fries -Pretzel roll buns!! Cons: -Odd menu layout. Why would Rouge Dead Guy or Kentucky Bourbon Ale be under the ’Cider, Lager, and Wheat’ heading? Boulevard Brainstorm was listed under ’Darks, Porter, Scots, and Stouts’. Its a Black IPA which I would think belongs more with the IPAs. There’s no point in having the headings if they aren’t accurate -Way too IPA heavy. -The beer pricing is a bit odd. Im not sure why Founders Dirty Bastard is $1 more than Founders Porters when its the same price for six packs or every other bar I’ve ever seen them at. I have a feeling alcohol content has a big factor on price. Overall higher than average beer pricing. -The east side of the bar can get so loud on the weekends its impossible to talk to the people at your own table -The food is very expensive -Vegetarians look elsewhere. The veggie burger is ok in a pinch but I couldn’t imagine paying what they are asking for the one or two other vegetarian items. $14 for stirfry vegetables? No way in hell. -Finding out the beer you wanted is out is a really bummer, I with they would cross those beers off the menu. -I noticed this at the last location but for some reason the service is great until you’ve been there a while and then they seem to forget about you. “
